Cheap Study Abroad In England

Study abroad - England or Australia?

Im have decided to study abroad for spring semester next year and have narrowed my choices to Newcastle University in Australia and University of Wales-Swansea in England.
But I am absolutely torn on which to pick. They are both excellent universities for my field of study and I have been told by my academic advisor that I will enjoy either place. They are also both popular choices for students from my home university here in the Midwest.
Can anybody offer some advice or tips to help me decide.....this includes weather, cost of living, culture, social life, history, travel, whatever. I am looking at ALL aspects of both prospects.

Cheap 'Study Abroad' Programs?

I'm sure that there must be scholarships available, but I'm not familiar with any. Try asking a counsler at you high school. Another thing, all of the programs I loked at online (England only, I didn't look Ireland so you might check that, though it's probably the same) required you to be at least 16 and have completed your junior year, so you wouldn't be eligible yet.

If you wait until college, it's easier to afford. It's still expensive, but you can apply for lots of scholarships. Besides, you are already paying for college anyway, so it's not THAT much more expensive as long as all your credits transfer.

Good luck and I hope I was able to help! :)

Which is the best country to study abroad, England or Canada? Which is cheaper?

I did a bachelor's degree in England (U of Birmingham) and a Master's in Canada (U of Western Ontario) but both were a long time ago.  Outside of London (UK), I find cost of living is lower in Canada for almost everything.  You should (as other posters here have said) research the fee level at the university of choice.  Another factor is the question of working during vacations - Canada is very difficult about obtaining a work permit and illegally working will probably have you kicked out.  I don't know about the UK.  But vacation jobs can make all the difference in the eventual cost. The quality of teaching and the school facilities are excellent in both countries.

Is studying abroad a good idea?

All of this depends on which university I would be going in each country. What I mean?

If you go to England and you apply for Oxford is a great idea because you understand the language and also you are attending to a really good university. In the other hand, if you go to spain you can also attend to great universities such as Universidad de Navarra, where you would be able to attend to one of the most prestigious universities in spain and you would also learn spanish )If you are not fluently enough in spanish they offer bilingual programs, so don't worry about that.

About a semester or a whole year, it depends on how you feel far away from home and also on the options offered by the universities. Actually I think that a semester is better if you go to the UK because you are not going to learn a new language and, although you'll learn new things, is also more advisable not to loose a complete year in your university. In case of going to spain, you would have the option to learn a new language and culture so it wouldn't be bad to stay the whole year.

The final decision depends really on you but I truly recommend you to go to spain (maybe because I am spanish) so you could learn a new language, and if you would like to come to my country, choose Universidad de Navarra that is very Universidad de Navarra (it is a spanish Expression to Emphasise the sentence but I don't know if it works in English). Universidad de Navarra, thanks to its projects, can become an international benchmark. They are thinking of achieving a 25% of international students, that is why choosing University of Navarra, if you have the option, in my point of view, is a great choice if you come to spain.

Look for IESE, CIMA, ISSA, ISEM or Clinica Universidad de Navarra. I am sure that they will convince you about the great university we are talking about.

Should I study abroad in England, Ireland, or Scotland?

Scotland is the best out of the 3. English people ARE rude about americans. But scottish people absolutely LOVE americans. Plus Scotland has beautiful countrysides and lovely cities. Hope you choose scotland!!

Where should I study abroad: England, Ireland or Scotland?

York might suit you. It is a relatively small campus based university in a medium sized city with a terrific history, some lovely architecture and good surrounding scenery. It's obviously in Yorkshire, but nowhere's perfect.
