How can i learn to draw?

Yes, it's absolutely possible for someone who is bad at drawing to become good (even professional). All you need to do is practice. You have to actually like it and stick with it, because it can get frustrating. I started out by looking at other drawings on photobucket and trying to copy them to the best of my ability. I didn't realize it, but in a month I had already improved a lot. Then I started to draw my own pictures, using some references, then eventually I began to do well with colors, also. Now I'm using graphite and charcoal and pastels comfortably and I love it so much. :D
So PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE~! You probably hear that a lot, but it really does pay off. Have fun and never give up, keep at it and you'll be a great artist. :)

I'm a young artist, help me?

Just keep practicing, you'll see improvement. Sometimes focusing on doing backgrounds or using a different style helps expand things. Manga styles use a lot of shading to get definition, practice that. And go for different poses.

Here - this column by an artist on doing mini-comics is great. The two blue links at the bottom are great, it's for a mini-comic you can make. Print them out, I used them as a template to do my own mini comics and they were a blast! I had a lot of fun doing them. You're looking at an 8 page mini comic printed double sided on one piece of paper.

Don't stress doing your comics. Just go with good stories, showcase your talent, play around with the 'camera angles' and if you need inspiration on paneling, check out this tutorial and play around with it.

Make things 'fun' again. You'll see some improvement.

How do you sell art online?

Selling art is difficult online because people like to have the tactile experience with it, and see for themselves that a person really made it. You can try ebay but I doubt you will get any bids, and if you do they will be very low. It's not really designed to sell handmade items, ebay is really more of a "garage sale" type place.

I successfully sold handmade hats on etsy.com about a year ago so I would recommend that. Just like ebay you have to pay a bit to sell there, but with etsy you pay 20 cents to list an item (for a month I think? or 3 months? I can't remember) and then I don't think there are any other fees (I might be wrong though, check out their site). Etsy is designed for people to buy and sell art, supplies, and handmade/vintage items. It's a great site, whether you are buying or selling. You will need paypal to use it, just like ebay. Paypal is useful to have set up anyway cause you can use it to buy stuff easily on lots of different online stores.

So yeah, I would do etsy. You can just hope that people find your stuff on etsy searches, or you can advertise on your social networks or around your neighborhood. You could also make a deviantart account (a site that is a community of artists showing off their work), find people who like your art, and then link them to your etsy shop.

Good luck, it's rough out there but with some advertising, good photos of your art, and quality craftsmanship, you can make some money. :)

What type of school is Parsons The New School (For Design)?

Parsons is one of the top design schools in the world and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. It's an art & design college housed within a larger NYC university called The New School - Parsons is actually just one of the seven colleges that make up The New School, but Parsons is by far the largest college. I graduated with my MA from Parsons and the education was top-notch. You should check out their website for more info: http://www.newschool.edu/Parsons

Is there an online community of artists who study under JERRY YARNELL?

I have watched Jerry Yarnell on PBS for years and was lucky enough to have gone to one of his workshops when he was in my city. He is an outstanding "professional" artist and instructor. Seeing his masterpieces in person blew my mind since the details simply don't come across the TV the same way.

I would like to connect with other artists (especially any from in my area) and maybe plan a group trip to his awesome farm house studio in OK.

I just enrolled in his new ONLINE SCHOOL and wow, having 24x7 access to his Snippet lessons is so handy to reference as needed. Also following along painting his "new in 2011" paintings is SO much more convenient viewing from the pc monitor than having to drag my easel and setting up in the den where the TV is. Plus it is crystal clear viewing online and no waiting for 4 weeks to see the full episodes of a painting. Having the FULL episode online is incredibly handy. Jerry Yarnell who is well known all over the world, especially in Europe and America.

For past students who are not aware, Jerry and his wife Donna are now realizing their dream and have launched this exciting ONLINE SCHOOL as an independent entity and are NO LONGER managing the old website where ex relations are attempting to keep it going. Don't be fooled. There are also other copycats out there selling old DVDs and paint supplies claiming to be Jerry Yarnell. His OFFICIAL JERRY YARNELL ONLINE SCHOOL WESITE IS:

http://www.yarnellschool.com (NOT the old yarnellart site!!, no longer his site!!)

The "old" yarnellart site has been hijacked by past EX staff, and that site does NOT have any of the new 2010 or 2011 videos or helpful detailed Snippet lessons (Snippets focus on one topic at a time to get the technique down before starting a whole painting, so cool).

Again, I would like to connect with other students who follow Jerry Yarnell or paint with his same style and method.
