Cheerleading Question

Cheerleading question...?

Hate to mention but when your dad may not aid you, I desire that your mother will. I am a core college cheerleading teach and cheerleading isn't low priced. Of path core schoolers should not have jobs to pay for camp, uniforms, and so forth. and despite the fact that you might get a role, you will not have time to paintings and cross to after college practices, conferences, and video games.... and remember assignments. You will want any person to support you pay the fees. Is your cheerleading squad conventional or game? A conventional squad is the squad that does the pep rally, cheers at video games from the sidelines, and would possibly do a part time efficiency. A game squad is a squad that travels across the country competing. Most of the game squads are co-ed, tremendously educated, highly intricate stunts, killer flips, you get the factor. Its just like the Bring it On Squads. If your college has a conventional squad, all you have got to do is have a few kind of rhythm and get a former cheerleader or person who has already made the squad to educate you. You might cross to a UCA camp. They will educate you the fundamentals of cheerleading. I feel this would be the excellent choice. If your squad is a game squad, your probabilities of creating the squad are very slender except you've gotten had years of gymnastics. Whatever occurs, I want you the excellent of good fortune. Keep making an attempt and paintings tough. Remember Cheerleading is tough paintings, if it used to be any simpler, it could be known as Football!

CHEERLEADING QUESTION!!?

there is no way of knowing exactly what the specific requirements are for the team you are trying out for, but if your going for a high-school squad my guess is that the minimum requirements will be a standing back-handspring, round-off handspring, experience in stunting and ability to do all the required jumps. trying out for a new team is always scary but you can't let that show ! make sure no matter what the skills are that you perform that you perform them with confidence. Always have a smile of your face no matter what! i've judged cheerleading tryouts before and believe me a smile goes a long way. Tryouts will be intimidating, there are going to be girls there who are older than you and who have been on the team before and that will probably scare you a little bit, but just remember they have been in your place before so there is no need to worry about them ! Just take a deep breath and smile and show them what you've got ! if you truly love cheerleading I'm sure it will show and it will make it hard for them not to put you on their team.

GOOD LUCK !

Didn't enjoy any now I'm back at Maryland twisters On F5

Cheerleading Questions!?

You'll be fine. I know that in my school, good tumblers are few and far between, so the back handspring will definitely help you. You sound really excited and dedicated, which is always a plus. Also, the Scorpion and Bow and Arrow are impressive stunts. If you can remain calm and focus, remembering your average tryout cheer isn't extremely challenging, so keep your nerves in check and you'll be fine with the cheer (by the way, nervousness is actually a word, so you shouldn't doubt yourself =). Anyhow, if you're still a bit nervous you can learn a cheer, any cheer, I'm pretty sure they have the NCA camp cheer for last year online*, and that's about the level of your basic tryout cheer. As for the dance, if you take a deep breath and focus your energy you'll find that it probably won't be that difficult. You have a great shot of making the team, between the stretch and the tumbling, so you shouldn't worry. Best of luck!

By the way, the link for the NCA camp cheer is here, it's the first short cheer this squad does (they don't do the best job, but you'll get the idea) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2QHPEAYQOE

Cheerleading tryouts(: any tips? + questions?

like the other person said they can view ur grades at any time & at my school or at least in the state u have to at least have passed 5 of 6 classes the previous semester and if ur a frshmen u r already elgible
im n high school u have to have good grades they prefer u have tumbling skills but u don't have to if u do u get extra pts.from the judges smile alot ... we had 3 days to learn the chant, cheer, dance (which they tought us), but ur school might have u come up with them 4th day was the tryout we were put in groups in four , we also practiced stunting but we ended up not doing it at tryouts tried out for freshmen squad but didn't make it im a soph. now i plan to try out for varsity in april.. im going to be working hard by the way & sometime during my jr. yr get tumbling lessons to get those skills dwn
did u go to the info. mtg. yet?

jumps: toe touch, front hurdler, herkie, tuck, pike (they want them high)
make sure u have precision, nice tight motions not sloppy or broken wrists

req.: ask any present cheerleaders or the coach if u need tumbling if u do end up needing it take a class cuz u can't perfect them by urself u can get hurt

work out plans : stretch, lift 5 lb. weights? cuz u need strength for ur motions, jumps, and when stunting, running/walking
stretches:sit with legs in a V position, as far apart as you can and lean and stretch at the same time on both sides (lean over left leg, then lean over right leg) also, try reaching your hands out in front of you as far as you can while doing these exercises., butterfly as well.If you do this on a regular basis, you will continue to become more flexible.

meal plan: fruits, veg, sweets every now and then try to stay fit

how to:if u need any tips here are just a few sites i recommend

Cheer question: how do you learn?

jumps
1. toe touch (most common)
2. herkie (similar to a toe touch but one knee is bent with your foot behind you.)
3. front hurderler. "just like it sounds. like you are jumping over a hurdle, the good ones get their toes in line with their head)
4. pike (both legs together and you reach forward and touch your toes)

As for the toe-touch (this applies to all the jumps) The secret is to do a proper prep. I cheered for 2 different squads and they each did different ones. They basically consist of going up on your toes then kneeling down and jumping up. I recommend a video or a cheer camp. The other secret for the toe touch is that your don't have have your legs straight out. You get your legs up more by bring your pelvis forward than by spreading your legs. Watch cheerleaders do it from the side. Its basically that stretch were you sit with your legs spread and reach forward and touch your toes.
Hope this helps. It's been almost 10 years since I've done this.

Cheerleading questions? How to get in shape?

Okay so i want to try out for an out of school competitive cheerleading team. Most of the girls trying out can do everything and have been cheering for their whole life. I have had no experience with cheering or anything like it. I am not flexible and i am overweight. I am 5'3" and i weigh 145... I don't look as much as i weigh though. Competitive cheerleading involves sharp fast dance moves, tumbling, kicking, and stunting. I can barely dace, i cannot do any tumbling, the my legs do not go up high for the kicks and jumps, and i don't know how to do stunting. Last night I tried to learn how to do my first tumbling move - the cartwheel. I'm still not perfect at it but i improved a lot. I spent two hours trying to perfect it and how to do what they call a "toe touch" jump, but you are not really touching your toes. I tried to do a bunch of ab workouts and stretch my legs so maybe i can do a split. Today i woke up and i was aching everywhere. My neck, my back, my thighs, groin, knees, and it hurts to bend down or get down when i am sitting up. So that means i didnt get to try to work on any other tumbling moves today because the pain is so bad. During next week (mon-thurs) they are teaching us a dance and some stunting that we have to do when we tryout. Tryouts are next saturday, april 28th and it is april 19th. How do i get more in shape so i will make team? How do i practice my flexibility and tricks if i'm in so much pain? this means the whole world for me and i want it more than anything else. PLEASE help. I'm finally starting to make my life the way i always wanted and imagined it to be. Thank you SO much
