Chest Pain Answer Asap

Chest pain?

I have a pain my chest, right down the middle. About 1-2" above where my ribs split. It's not an intense pain(mild-moderate, dull), and makes it 'slightly' harder to breathe, "when" it hurts. I've had it for 1-2 weeks, it comes and goes. If I am standing or sitting up, it will sometimes start to hurt. When I am laying down, it's usually gone. It seems to have started when I was slouching in my chair, but I wonder because I was told there's not much muscle there.
To note: I'm 18 (Not my heart?), I spent most of the last 36 hours in bed(For a completely different reason(Might have slept wrong??)), and I have anxiety disorder.. It's not an intense pain, and it doesn't go to my left arm etc.
I seem to remember it feeling fine when I was sitting in my chair, and then I slouched for a couple of hours and it hurt.. again.
I had a cold a couple weeks ago (From cutting drywall), and I could feel a pain there when coughing. Pneumonia? But I don't have a fever or most of the other symptoms.

Heart Pain? or Chest pain?

You definitely should not be afraid to see the doctor. With 3 episodes of chest pain with radiation of the pain in the last year, it is very possible you have a cardiac condition that requires professional medical attention. Although younger people usually don't have cardiovascular problems (not sure of your age), it does happen sometimes. Your weight predisposes you to heart problems as well, which brings up another topic, your diet. Poor eating habits can contribute to heart problems also; family history too (anyone else in your family had heart problems?). The fluttering sensations you mentioned could possibly be atrial flutter, which shouldn't be painful (is it?), but could be indicative of something else happening with your heart. If you see your family doctor, you might ask whether or not you need an echocardiogram (EKG). It's very important to see a physician about this, and that might help prevent you from having a more expensive and possibly life-threatening trip to the ER. If you have left-sided chest pain with radiation of the pain as severe as you described, you need to go immediately to the ER. Hope everything works out for you.

Chest Pain Help ASAP!?

I am confused. If your doctors said it is "not" heart-related, did they offer any opinions as to what it could be? I know that doctors nowadays have inkling to be dismissive (due to high cost of insurance and how they are being billed), but I think it is negligent AND INCOMPETENT of a doctor to not explore where the pain is coming from and just dismiss it as "oh, it's not your heart!" Go to the clinic office and report this matter immediately. Better yet, GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR. I'm sure you will find someone who will address your issue for you in a more professional and effective manner.

I hold doctors to the highest respect but in my past experience, I have encountered bad and negligent ones and I reported them. I wasted no time. I wrote to everyone, sending copies to even the Attorney General and the Board of Medicine. My life is important to me. I will only have one. It irks me that doctors pay little attention to big symptoms.

I am NOT doctor but my thoughts are that there could be a number of reasons why you are having this discomfort. Could be a cracked or bruised, or broken rib, pleurisy (swelling of the lining of the lungs) or muscle spasms, inflammation of cartilage near the breastbone (costochondritis, also known as Teitze's Syndrom), or osteoporosis, or amazingly, HEARTBURN. Heartburn can be painful at times and sometimes feel like you're having a heart attack.

I suffer from Teitze's for decades now. It comes and goes. I was diagnozed when I was 25, I am now 64. Whenever I do strenuous exercises, I will feel it.

Please find a bona fide practicing physician. Fire the quack you saw the first time. There are other good ones.

Good luck and I hope you feel better real soon.

Chest pain normal?

Occassionally I get really sudden spots of I guess I wouldn't necessarily call them pain but it feels kind of unpleasant in my chest area, usually around my heart area...they always go away after a few minutes and I was just wondering if something like this is normal...I have no other side effects at all unless my anxiety kicks in from time to time if I really start to worry about it. But I'm also thinking that when I get a pain spot on the other side of my chest or even anywhere else on my body it doesnt worry me at all. So Im just wondering if it is at all possible to have a pain in your chest area and it be nothing at all.

Is there an immediate solution to chest pains?

That would depend on the underlying problem. On the ED 1 in 3 people attending with chest pains had musculoskeletal pain, no heart nor lung problems, usually stressed out people. If having risk factors for heart problems (smoking, family history, high blood pressure, diabetes, high serum lipids in middle aged people) best see a doc ASAP to exclude heart problems, if short of breath (no panic attack) consider lung problems (lung emboli, pneumothorax, even pleuro-pneumonia) so see a doc ASAP also, having had some trauma to the chest consider having bruised or broken ribs, see a doc too.

I've been having hot and cold night sweats with chest pain and vomiting. I'm 40 years old, female, no history of heart issues. What is it?

As an EMT, my first thought would be gall stones. When you poop, what us the color? A pale, greyish stool indicates a blockage of bile. Second thought is a possible ovarian cyst, or an inflamed appendex. We were taught that the pain of appendicitis is located at the lower right abdomen. But before it gets that far, the inflamed appendix can rub against the intestines causing discomfort. My last concern would be a possible cardiac event. You see, being a woman, your pain can be symptomatic of any three of these. When a female patient complains of symptoms such as yours, we immediately transport to the ER.You need to see the ER or at least east your doctor ASAP.I hope I may have been some help.
