Childrens Haunted Mansion Book

Why do I have recurring dreams that I live in a haunted house?

If the dreams are nightmares, it means that your brain is trying to bring something to your attention. You have a problem in your waking life that needs to be fixed, so your brain is giving you reoccurring nightmares to tell you that you need to fix the problem. The meaning of a haunted house in a dream can vary. If you are physically in the haunted house, you might have incomplete emotional business that relates to your childhood family or dead relatives, or it could mean that you have feelings that you're repressing. If you are only seeing the haunted house from the outside, it could mean that you feel someone in your waking life is decieving you or is untrustworthy. I hope this helps!

The Haunting movie 1999 how was the character Eleanor related to the deceased children?

Crain had a second wife named Carolyn, from whom Eleanor is descended. Apparently the necklace was passed down through generations of women in her family.

Crain took children from his mills and murdered them, then burned the bodies in the fireplace, trapping their spirits and forcing them to remain with him, providing him with an 'eternal family'. Eleanor wasn't related to the children, but felt that it was her duty to save them from their abuser.

As far as the rest, it all indicates that the house is "alive" with all the spirits trapped within...able to play tricks on peoples minds, to lure her there in the first place, etc. As with any group in a haunted house, some people are more sensitive and can see/hear things that others cannot.

As far as the Dudleys, they claimed in the beginning they would not go there at night, that nobody would be there to help the group & that nobody lived close enough to hear them, etc. Obviously they knew the house was haunted and had some very bad juju and it was dangerous to stay overnight in it.

It's a movie. Anything can happen in a movie.

I also agree with answer 1 that the original in 63 was way better than this remake.

Should I save items from my childhood/youth for my children?

I understand the impulse to hold onto things because of their sentimental value or because of their potential future usefulness. If you are holding onto things because you are fond of them and you’d like to share them with your kids, there is value to that, but I suggest choosing only the most special items for this. Things like your old baseball glove, music or a religious ritual item, for example. Even with music, your kids will prefer it downloaded to a device than on a record, tape or CD.If you are holding onto things primarily because you think they will be useful to your kids I urge you to think again. For one thing, many items just don't work as well when they are older. They tend to get dirty, rusty, splintered, plastics degrade, etc. Add to this the fact that styles and designs change, and by the time your kids are ready for your old things there may well be something available that’s just plain better/lighter/easier to clean/modular/etc. Except for a few items, your kids will not want a full wardrobe of your old clothes. As to your last question, some of your items may be memories for your parents, but if they have relinquished them to you they are not. Your parents will keep anything sentimental for themselves.

What books do you remember reading during your childhood?

If I remember correctly, my very first book was a yellow colored hard-bind volume of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’I remember that the book had simple words and the longer words had tiny icons/images to help us read faster. I must have read it so many times.I still have my copy of ‘The Big Henry’s Cat Story Book’. Oh how I used to love this! Then there were my other three favorites - ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ and ‘The Three Little Pigs’.All this was when I was really small…aged about 4.By the time I was 6, I had moved on to more serious stuff like Hans Andersen’s Fairy Tales, 1001 Arabian Nights, books by Enid Blyton (Book of Brownies, Brer Rabbit, Amelia Jane)I used to read Indian books while vacationing in India. Those were mainly comics and children’s magazines - Tinkle, Phantom, Chandamama, Gokulam, Misha and a whole lot of Amar Chitra Katha. When I was 7, I got my first copy of The Mahabharata. The only other comics I used to read were Tintin and Asterix.Comics like Archie was strictly prohibited at home as my folks feared that the language used in them will affect my own vocabulary. And the rest of history ^_^

Is a vacation a suitable present for a kid's Christmas present?

Not only is it a good present, my kids have told me that it has been their favorite. Whenever we are in the pool or doing an activity that my girls enjoy, they compare their feelings to our California trips. They even compare smells sometimes. One time my wife’s wheelchair was stolen at Disneyland. There was a guy named Nicolas who worked at the Haunted Mansion, where the wheelchair was stolen. Nicolas has become a hero and a legend in our house simply cause he let us go through the Haunted Mansion by ourselves cause he saw my daughters’ pain. Nicolas is just one part of many trips my girls went on who made their trips special. When we lost our insurance and my wife’s disability, the trips stopped. My girls have been heartbroken that their favorite Christmas gift has stopped. Luckily, I think that someone like Nicolas will help our family during my girls’ pain. And even more importantly, my girls believe it.Ps go on vacations, lots of vacations!
