Clavicle Bone Callusing

This is rather mebarassing but I hurt my clavicle (collar bone) masterbating?

how is that possible? I sprained my wrist once also jerking off. Should I buy a toy or something from now on? Also the calluses in my hand cause the skin to break often?

I'm being serious. I'm single right now so I beat my meat a lot.

right where it meets the shoulder it feels stressed like a painful pressure . I tried switching arms but then the other side got in pain.

Or is it possibly from doing lat pulldowns with too much weight at the gym that did this?

Why won't my clavicle heal fully?

I sustained a fractured clavicle around 15 weeks ago and I'm not sure why the pain hasn't gone away completely yet. After I broke it, I went to a doctor and got an x-ray. He told me that I won't need surgery and it'll heal properly on its own. He gave me an arm sling and figure eight sling. When it broke, the bones were touching at the sight of the break, but it was sticking up at about around a 25 degree angle from where it's normally supposed to be. Eventually a lump formed around it, and now there is obvious deformity. One of my shoulders go straight while the previously broken one seems to go up at an angle like a house top. Also, I went back to the doctor around 8 weeks after it broke and he said it was only healed about 30% which is really weird considering fracture should heal completely by then.

Anyways, I still feel pain in my shoulder when I jerk it or move it in a certain way. Also, the lump at the sight of the fracture feels like a bruise and hurts when I apply some force to it. Plus, areas around the fracture that aren't even injured hurt too sometimes for no reason.

Does anyone know why my fracture isn't healing? Do I have to get surgery? (Btw I am a 16 year old and don't have insurance to get really expensive surgery).

How do you know if a broken collarbone is healing?

If you follow your MD's instructions (not moving your shoulder too much, staying away from alcohol etc.), you are most probably on track. An X-ray can show whether there is any calcification where broken parts touch. In my case (male, late 20s, broken and displaced clavicle on the outer end, figure 8 brace immobilization), it took 7-8 weeks. For weeks after the injury, I felt the two parts of the bone move if I moved my shoulder and there was no improvement as far as I could tell. After about 4 weeks, the movements were not so apparent, but I was disappointed when the movements returned after the 5th. Anyhow, after the 6th the bone was more or less immobile and after the 8th, I was out for my first run after the injury.

How should I sleep with a broken collarbone?

I've never had a broken collarbone, and I would imagine on ones back without a pillow (which is how I sleep anyways). However this link/article provides an in depth explanations as well as pointers and suggestions to alleviate pain and issues associated with broken collarbonesJohn's Clavicle PageFrom what I gather, a cast for such is typically not used due to the area, but to reduce mobility, slings are available. The crucial part is having no mobility to the area, which can be a challenge during sleeping. I would say medicated and still. A person with personal experience discloses the following on her experience:“Sleeping. Most certainly, one must avoid, at all costs, rolling onto the affected shoulder during the first week. This will wake you up in just as much pain as the day you crashed. I found that propping pillows all along the length of my body helped to reduce unwarranted movement. I slept a lot, there wasn’t much else to do. But, this doesn’t really matter, as dressing, eating, and drinking will take about 5 times longer than usual, so I filled my day accordingly.”What to Expect From a Broken ClavicleOf course there are the doctors insights, which strangely seem to give different opinions on sleeping with a broken collarbone Top 11 Doctor Insights on How can you sleep with broken collar bone - HealthTap Which leads me to believe, whichever is comfortable to you and that causes the least movement to the area. Hopefully that helps and you can get some sleep.

Musician's nightmare; broken collarbone. Advice (string players esp.)?

My commiserations.

It is the perfect opportunity, as IJones well-recommends, to use that time to assess which two instruments from which 'family' you hope to be really proficient at playing.

Once reduced to two, you could later 'get back to' or pick up a second familiarly related instrument.

You have to do basically 'NOTHING' or your bone won't heal properly, and then it will have to be surgically broken and re-set to make it right, with less of a chance of its being ever really right again.

I'm certain the doctors strongly advised you the same and you just don't wish to accept it. Not accepting or following that advice is very much to your own peril.

You can now do 'mental' practice by looking at the score, hearing it in your head, and thinking of each and every physical movement and gesture involved when actually playing. This is tremendously effective, and most people will not believe it for a moment until they have done it and experience the results.

The time too, can be used to 'take your own pulse' and think of which you Instruments you Miss The Most.

Nobody is that good with that many instruments. If you're to be a dilettante, it sort of doesn't really matter. If you wish to be really good at a few of them, it matters a lot.

Best regards.

I have been intentionally breaking my bones so I can see my hot doctor, I'm afraid to ask her out though...?

Wow, usually people do that for insurance money man. Even though it's pretty stupid and pretty illegal if you're going to break your bones for no reason other than the fact that you like some girl you might as well get paid for it. You sound pretty out there dude, insurance fraud might be right down your ally. Well skipping through all the wisecracks I think you should really seek some psychiatric help to help both with your thrill of breaking your own bones and your fear of opening up and expressing yourself. If you want to ask this girl out just say how you feel man. To get something you want like a girl you have to throw yourself out in the open and just let her either accept you or deny you. But breaking your bones is not going to impress, it's going to make her think you are psycho. She'll probably think that you'd snap her neck the first chance you get. Or pop her kneecap out of place just for the heck of it.

"extra" bone on collar bone?

Chekc with your doc. You might have an extra rib in there. A condition that leads to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Which is a restriction of the thoracic nerve that goes from your neck all the way down to the arm. Basically with an extra rib there is not enough room for that nerve and it ends up spasming and causing all sorts of hell with your neck and back. Try this. Lift your hands above your head. If you lose strength and can't keep it up for more than 2 min or you lose feeling in your hands you really need to get it checked out.
