I recently broke my foot and I have been unable to do anything but the basics of cleaning in my apartment. So I did the unthinkable in these hard times and hired a maid service. I live in a studio apartment. Literally one small room and a small bathroom. But for a whole month I have not been able to do much as my foot gets very swollen if I'm up too much (I can't walk on it or bear any weight on it either). So my apartment has been slowly getting past my limit of dirty. I must say that when they finished, it is cleaner than before, but I am a bit disappointed. A few things I had on the list were not done, (mainly the single kitchen cabinet was untouched as well as the windows), and I cannot imagine how it took over three hours to clean two rooms especially with two people (The $122 bill accounts for three hours at $40 an hour). My list was simple: vaccum, mop, clean toilet and toilet area, and kitchen (mind you everything is a third of the size of a normal place). Nothing extravagant was asked so I'm uncertain as to why it took so long. I have a friend who owns her own cleaning business who would never take more than two to three hours to clean an entire house, and she was very meticulous, so I'm just not clear as to why it would take two people three hours to clean two rooms and still miss simple things like dusting, cleaning the bathroom mirror, parts of the toilet, corners of the bathroom that are still dirty, and the windows are completly untouched. I sent an email detailing my concerns, being very polite. I offered pictures as evidence as well. I have not heard back and am uncertain as to what to do. I'm not saying they didn't do anything, they certainly did, but I cannot fathom how three hours was needed to do it and they still missed so much.
