Co-op Interview At Future Shop

Women's Interview attire: pick which suit.?

I have an interview for CRNA school in a month. Are slender legged suits appropriate? Everyone will be in a suit. My goal is to stand out a bit; to look professional, but trendy. I plan to wear my chin length hair down with a slight wave. My shoes are low heel with closed toe.

I have a 4.0 GPA at a top university in CS. I applied to internships but got flat out rejected. I do put a lot of effort into getting good grades, but at the expense of more practical experience. But why do I not even get an interview?

It's *because* you got a 4.0.Or rather, because you think somebody gives a rat's ass that you got a 4.0.Numerical grades are pretty much irrelevant. The only reason anybody bothers with them in high school is because you've got to get into college. Colleges are going to filter through tens of thousand of applications to fill a few thousand slots. A good grade is a tool for them to prioritize and filter that massive process. After that, grades are just trivia. Nobody in the real world cares. And apparently, that's one of the many, many things that they didn't teach you up in that fancy college. You didn't tell me *anything* else about yourself in the question details. You just threw a bunch of meaningless numbers out.The main thing is that you graduated. After that, a 4.0 might get a momentary "huh" that would induce a recruiter to pay slightly more attention to your resume and cover letter. Your resume probably sucks, since you just got out of college and don't have any work experience, but your cover letter does the real job. What excites you about programming? What are you interested in? What makes you interested in this company? Did you even bother researching this company? Do you even know why you want to work for them, or are they just a meal ticket? Do you care about them? Why should they care about you?If the grade is the most interesting thing in your application, then it's not a very interesting application. It's not really your fault that college didn't teach you anything that actually matters; colleges never do, and college students are generally too immature and self-involved to learn it if they did teach it. The real lesson that they should be trying to teach is that the grade is a pointless bit of accounting. What you need is genuine enthusaism for the subject, and the ability to convey that you're good for something other than the kind of scut-work that goes into getting grades.Be creative. Be insightful. Be interested. Be interesting. If you can do that, you can often get an interview with any passing grade. A good grade doesn't hurt, but it's time to stop thinking of that number as the center of your life. That number is the way schools make administration easy, but it's a crappy measure of your intelligence. The real world cares about stuff that you can actually produce for them, and that's not just filling out forms with correct answers. It's being a real human being, not a number.

If in an interview, HR asks “I give you Rs 100, what will you buy?” What will be your answer?

Once I was asked this question, but the person was not from HR, he was Sr. Manager of the department. I was a fresher & appearing that interview which was much needed for me to crack.I will not name the company, but it was one of fortune 500.Lets call Sr. Manager as SM.SM- I give you 1000 Rs, what will you do. I don’t mind if you buy, donate or throw away. But you need to convince me with the reason.Me- Please hand over the money now.SM- Here you go.Me- Crumbled and handed back to him.SM- What does this mean?Me- You gave me a new 1000 Rs note I gave you a crumbled one. Do you think the value of this note is depreciated or appreciated?SM- I don't think so. But what’s the meaning? Can you elaborate?Me- Padron me sir, Even after crumbling the value of the note not changed, then how come your company judge a student’s potential by just looking at their grades? Why you have set cut off to filter out non potential candidates?Let me make it more clear.Sir, When a student joins any college/university he/she is as fresh as a clean note. And gradually with extra loads of curriculum they became crumbled under so called grading system.Like this crumbled 1000 note their value don’t depreciate even when they get lower grade . They might have excelled in something else, which might be more useful in practical life.If you can adore and keep the crumbled 1000 note like you would have done for a fresh one, then why your company discriminates on basis of grade and decides who need to appear & who needn’t for the interview. We all are like currencies, if we are given a chance and invested well we can contribute a lot to your comapny.A 1000 will be 1000 always if not properly invested .Thank You.SM- Pretty impressive. You used the money example to show how a deserved person can be more valuable to organisation if given a chance. It will be a symbiotic relation to work with you.HR will take forward after this. Good Luck. And yes I got selected in that company which was the foundation stone of my carrier.
