College Question Are There Physical Therapy Schools In Hawaii

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)'s Physical Therapy Program?

UCLA does NOT offer a PT program!!!! However, you can still attend UCLA and do the pre-professional course work then apply for an actual PT program. You can not get into PT school as a freshman, you need your bachelor's degree first, or you need to have all your pre-professional coursework completed before you can apply to a master degree PT program. You can not graduate as a licensed PT with a bachelor's, it is now a master's degree.

Looking to attend college in Hawaii for a major in athletic training? What college would offer the cheapest out-of-state tuition?

I don’t know the least expensive university in Hawaii for out of state residents but the only state-run university is the University of Hawai’i system. The UH includes the community colleges in the state such as Kapiolani Community College and Kauai Community College. It includes UH Mānoa, UH West Oahu, UH Maui, and UH Hilo. As the UH system is the only state-owned university in the state, it is the only one that charges a difference for state residents vs. out of state students. The other universities in Hawaii are private. Brigham Young University Hawai’i Campus, Hawai’i Pacific University, and Chaminade University are not-for-profit private universities, all on Oahu. Argosy University and University of Phoenix are both for-profit specialized programs without athletic programs.I’m not sure whether the major you want to pursue is available at any university in Hawai’i except, possibly, University of Hawai’i Mānoa or UH Hilo. HPU and Chaminade have sports teams but I don’t know if they offer degrees in athletics. I rather think they don’t after looking at their webpages. In 2014 BYU Hawai’i discontinued its athletics teams and doesn’t offer physical education classes at all.As a non-resident of Hawai’i you would be required to pay out of state student fees unless you are the resident of a state, such as Oregon, that has interstate agreements with Hawai’i to allow students to attend at the resident rates for fees.

Can you tell me a little bit 'bout educational system in America? What I need to do to become a good student?

Not all US high schools are as bad as that other poster made them out to be. I should know, I went to one. The problem most of the bad schools have isthat they are filled with stupid poor people. Avoid inner city schools.

In general what you want to do to be a good student is just make the teachers think you are trying hard. If you do that they will grade you easier and give you the benfit of the doubt in most circumstances.
Yes, you shoucl participate in extracurricular activities. They look good on applications and they keep you busy so you dont fall in with a crowd of drug addict losers.

Is Hawaii Pacific University of Azusa Pacific University?

I know that Fresno and Seattle Pacific University are sister schools of APU. But i was wondering if anyone knew if HPU was one also? My dad works at apu so i can still get his discount off tuition at sister school.

What are the differences between traditional and modern education?

In traditional education all students are lumped together under one instructor, and basic subjects read, write, arithmetic. Individuality is not promoted. There was a certain passing number upon entrance exams to determine if students are 'normal.' Different learning styles, social disorders, and mental illnesses were not what the Broad of Education considered appropriate behavior. This is probably where bullying others that are different originated.Modern education consist of choices, online, independent, education intervention. Social groups are diverse, students can be a cool nerd, jocks can be on the honor roll, people from two different styles walks of life can find common ground and become friends. College is an option for students willing to work hard for scholarships, there are choices. Proms Kings and Queens are not the most important topic. However, the freedom of choices come with consequences, students who are bullied no longer seek help from adults, they bring a gun. Girls do not know what's appropriate attire to wear to school. Teachers are not held in high esteem anymore. Physical bullying has grown to cyber bullying and students commit suicide. Students drop out without adults noticing because classes are overcrowded. Good news smoking is down but pharmaceuticals for therapy or recreational use are way up. Teachers are engaging students in sexual behaviors. Is this what happens when too much freedom of choice and not enough boundaries are given?

Is the University of Phoenix a good school for nursing?

No. You'd be much better off studying nursing at your local community or technical college. It's cheaper, more respected (as long as it's not a for-profit school) and you'd get a better education.
