Comparing Two Laptops Specs

Hewlett-Packard: Urgent! How do these laptop specs compare?

Thanks for the A2A. We actually got the HP model that you have mentioned for our team of sales managers. I cannot really compare it with Dell since I have myself never used a Dell system. However, I can give you an idea about the HP one from the experiences of my colleagues - 1. The build quality is pretty good. In fact, I think HP laptops have the best build quality (except Mac). 2. HP service is also really good. One of the laptops had a minor battery issue but they changed the unit and were prompt and efficient about it. No follow ups were required. 3. The graphics processor in HP is NVIDIA which is way better than the AMD one with Dell. 4. The battery in Dell seems to be better than HP. I don't know whether the 6 cells which Dell has will actually lead to a longer battery life but on paper it sounds better. 5. The HP one comes with 8GB RAM as opposed to 6GB RAM with Dell. From my experience with windows until a year back, more RAM is always better. Our systems in office run Windows 8 on 8 GB RAM and we don't see operating troubles too often. The systems rarely hang and are fast. 6. The thing I noticed - you are getting a printer at a low price with the HP one if you buy from the link you have pasted. That seems like a good deal. I hope this helps. I don't claim to be an expert on this. That is why I have tried to give a user's perspective rather than a technical perspective. :)

Where we can compare the two or more mobile/laptop at a time?

You can compare them on findyogi.com.Price Comparison Shopping India - FindYogi is a price comparison engine that lets you search prices from different online stores.I have been using it to find coupons for my laptop purchase. It is a good interface, that is why I am recommending it.P.S. I know this sounds like I am being paid to advertise this site but I am not. I am blogger and keep testing stuff so though I'd share this with you.My site: Technician Diary - Lots of blah blah in the Tech Industry. You ain't gonna find 'em here!

How do you compare laptop according to their specifications?

One basically compares the hardware specifications (which includes the ram, processor, graphics etc) and other not so technical stuff like ergonomics and build quality. While comparing the memory one checks the amount of RAM and the class of RAM i.e. DDR3 or DDR4 (DDR4 being the latest). THE CATCH: 4gb ddr4 or 8gb ddr3?? Depends on your needs. If using for regular purpose then go for 4 gb ddr4.When it comes to the storage, you check whether the laptop comes with old hard drives with rotating physicals inside or solid state drives which are high performing as compared to the former and costly too. THE CATCH: 1TB HDD or 256GB SSD?? Again, it's your personal choice depending on your needs. SSDs are going to show some obvious performance improvements over the standard HDDs but solid state drives (SSD) are quite costly and this choice depends on one's budget.Coming to the processor, you check the no. of physical cores, threads. Higher no. of cores and threads means better handling of the tasks. Also one needs to check the speed at which the processor is clocked.Graphics is something a regular user need not really worry about. Nowadays, integrated graphics perform extremely well for regular work. But one should check the graphics capabilities of the laptop if he/she needs to do perform some graphics intensive activities. Discrete graphics processor are compared on the basis of their graphics memory, clock speed, memory bandwidth and pixel rate.Other features of the laptops like dvd drives, wlan channel support (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac etc.), number of usb ports available (checking number of usb 3.0 ports), card reader etc are also some must haves for a laptop. It's not always wise to get a best specs laptop but to get the best laptop which suits your needs. Hope this helped you!

What specs are important when comparing GPUs?

It depends on which 2 GPU’s you are comparing. GPU from Amd can not be directly compared with Nvidia based on specs. Because amd and nvidia has different approaches to achive same thing. With that said. If you are comparing 2 amd gpus or 2 nvidia gpu following specs matter.Fabrication technology : usually given in nm(nanometer) less the number is more effecient and cooler the card runs. Applies for both amd and nvidia alike.Core count : these are actual compute units. Greater number means better card. Again dont mix these number between amd and nvidia becuase they have different architecture.Memory type : Few cards ( especially lower end cards) come with DDR3 memeory which slower than GDDR5.Memory Bandwidth : the size is given in bits for eg 256bit or 512 bit. Greater the bandwidth better it is.Memory size: This size is vram available for gpu. Remember dedicated gpu can not use RAM thus if you love using texture mods you should opt for 4 or 8Gb cards.Core clock speed : this speed given in megahertz MHZ. Greater the number faster the gpu.Memory clock speed : same as core clock speed but applies to memory. So first decide the platform you want nvidia or amd.Try to buy card from latest serise. RX500 is latest for amd and GTX 1000 serise is latest for nvidia.According to you needs find out which cards suits your need. Once finalized that. Compare above specs between vendors for same cards.

How can the qualitative performance of two laptops be compared without reference to specs?

The simple answer is you should benchmark the time required to run identical programs. As for details, there is no single linear scale of "performance" for computers. Performance has many determinants that cannot be accurately described together as one number. Different programs on different computers may show major performance differences on CPU integer calculations, CPU floating point calculations, ,GPU calculations of all sorts, and disk access.Nonetheless, there are benchmark suites that attempt to summarize the complexities. One major portable test suite which I have found convenient to use is the Phoronix test suite. It can test performance of tasks limited by CPU, GPU, and disk access.Open-Source BenchmarkingThere are two more major test suites that I can't vouch for personally since they seem to be tailored towards Windows.Another major test suite is PCMark.Test your PC and Android deviceThe GPU analog for PCMark is 3DMark.test your graphics card with the gamer's benchmark

Which laptops are better, HP or Asus?

If it matters to you, HP is a company that’s headquartered in the US. Asus is a Taiwanese company. It’s fairly important with laptops to spend a bit of time with the unit before making a buying decision. The feel of the keyboard can be quite different. So can the keyboard layout — but people usually adjust to that fairly quickly. If either of the units were from their business lines, I’d take that over the consumer laptop. Not only do the components and assembly tend to be better, but it will have less shovelware (“free” trial software loaded on consumer laptops in return for a payment by the SW vendor; essentially they’re subsidizing the HW, hoping you’ll convert to a paid version, such as with Symantec Antivirus).

Which are the best laptops, HP or Dell?

Well brand doesn't matter much but I have something to share with you about different brandsHP and DELL, they are the most popular brands nowadays even more than LenovoAccording to “specification” HP Laptop is considered the best among all products but there is no major difference in performance of Dell and HP..“Customers service and Warranty “This is the most important point and really Dell is the winner in this case. HP is little bit slower in providing services to their customers.“price”-Dell is the winner“Hardware and Appearance “-no doubt Dell has better appearance and SSD“Speakers”-HP is the winner but Dell is also very good.“Weight”-no doubt it is always be Dell and only DellAt last, HP doesn’t have the standard gaming line-up that Dell has in the Alienware brand. Alienware may not be the only gaming system on the market, but the Alienware leads the gaming category. This is all thank you.Hope it might help you
