Concussion While Drunk

Concussion while drunk. HELP?

First of all, you cannot come on here ask a question and then request only answers that you want to hear. That is not how this works.

It will not matter what you do or don't tell the doctor, he will know what is going on, this type of thing is seen all the time in medical doctors offices.

People are making bad choices, getting blacked out drunk and falling down and getting concussions. It has all been seen before.

Tell your doctor exactly what happened, if you are old enough to drink alcohol, you are old enough to act like an adult about it and speak up. If you are not old enough to be drinking, you have a great deal more problems than are being discussed on here.

I was in high school with someone who had a similar experience, however he did not tell the doctors what had actually gone on when he blacked out, fell down a set of stairs and hit his head on a concrete wall.

He ended up having a damaged nerve in his neck which could not be repaired or healed properly and he is in a wheelchair to this day, years later.
If he had told the doctor the truth, he would have been embarrassed, but be living a very different life.

Was the omission of truth worth it, I know it wasn't.

Super drunk friend might have a concussion?

We told her she could sleep over and she got dropped off at our house drunk and covered in blood. Her face has fist sized bump above her eyebrow. We don't know what to do because everything to test if she has a concussion is the same symptoms of being really drunk. We don know if we should let her sleep or not

Concussion while drunk?

My friend was very drunk and was throwing up at peeing in her pants. We took her home and she was puking in the sink and slammed her head very hard on it. Her mother said she has a concussion so we took her to the hospital. On the way there she had pooped her pants also. She wasn't very responsive either and by the time we got to the hospital she was completely passed out. Is this from alcohol or concussion?

Can you drink alcohol while having a concussion?

If you're suicidal, bottoms up!

How long shouldn’t one drink after a concussion? What would happen if he decides to drink?

Please read this link Alcohol Use After Traumatic Brain InjuryHow much alcohol is "safe" after TBI?After TBI the brain is more sensitive to alcohol. This means that even one or two drinks may not be safe, especially when you need to do things that require balance, coordination and quick reactions, such as walking on uneven surfaces, riding a bicycle or driving a car. The fact is, there is no safe level of alcohol use after TBI.If, like in 30 to 50% of the people having had a concussion alcohol being drunk had anything to do with it, stopping alcohol use would seem wise.

I had a concussion as a baby. I also have ADHD. Can the concussion be the reason why I have ADHD?

Maybe. Maybe not. While trauma to the head can cause ADHD it's also possible that you could have already been born with the disorder. And since you were a baby when you had a concussion it's pretty difficult to tell if you were already born with ADHD or if it was acquired.

Concussion, when does the "drunk" feeling go away?

I have a 3rd degree concussion, I got it on the 12th of February and every day i feel so wasted. I swear, it's like I am drunk nonstop and I hate it. I even tried drinking to see if it would somehow counter-act the feeling (stupid I know, I blacked out).

How long does this last? I was diagnosed with Post Concussion Syndrome but I really need to go back to work soon and am worried I am going to be in this fog forever? Also, when I am trying to sleep at night my ears ring so loud I can't fall asleep, like someone is standing over me screaming nonstop, help?

What happens if you drink alcohol when you have a concussion?

When you have had a minor concussion within a week, I would not suggest it. Alcohol changes the chemicals in your brain, and if you have a minor concussion these chemicals are already unbalanced. I would not suggest it because people who drink alcohol when they have had a concussion are more likely to show signs of hallucinations and violence, as well as seizures. So in order so you don't hurt others and yourself i would say no, or go to ask a doctor first.

How didn’t I break a bone or get a concussion? I was on my longboard, probably going 50. I fell off and landed on my head first. I might even done a failed judo roll.

At 50, you likely turned that downward impact into rotational energy. That can change the forces experienced by the head.
