Confucius Confucius Dead For 2500 Years Now. Man Buried In Cemetary. How Come No Great Thinkers In

No, he is not a dead man. Compared with many philosophers, like Socrates, Aristotle, we can find that the later two are still alive. Why? For I can see them in most westerners mind, for they created western brilliant civilization along with other western philosophers. So they are immortal. The same to Confucius and many other Chinese philosophers. They create the spirits of China. Maybe westerners have less knowledge about 韩非子,老子,公孙龙子 than Confucius. However it's obvious that they made a great China together. When talked about Confucius, his student made this comment:” The word lost its glory and fate, the God made him to save the world. ” Confucius took too much to China.Confucius told us:” If the world kept morality, I won't join in(for getting reputation).”Confucius told us:” The man who keeps his belief when the nation keeps its fate, is powerful. The man who keeps his belief when the nation lost its fate, is powerful!”Confucius told us:”(For justice)you should do even you can't do.”……That's too many words Confucius taught us, making us stand until today. Ancient Greece went away, Ancient India went away, Rome went away——but we are still here. That's the spirits Confucius devoted. So he is not dead man.Someone is dead but is still alive.Someone is alive but already dead.

The Chinese hav been influenced by the West, just as all culture that have industrialized. But the Confucian foundation of still very much a defining feature of China. It expains what makes China different from India. You can refer to my earlier answer to a similar question below.Confucius has been dead for 2,500 years now. Why does China still care about a dead man in the cemetery? Who are the other thinkers that have come along since Confucius?

Confucius can not really be compared to any single historical figure in Western history. He can’t be compared to Jesus nor to Aristotle, Plato or Socrates. Yet he was the single most important figure in shaping Chinese culture because he created China’s social structure. China is now a quasi-Communist country but that has not made the Chinese “un-Chinese” or "un-Confucian".Idem Japan, a quasi-democratic country but still Confucian. A good sign that a person born and raised in a Confucian country is that they bow to others. This is not “voluntary.” It is a cultural response based on hierarchies. A “lower-stationed” person will typically bow just a little bit deeper than a higher-ranked person. They don’t even have to know each other; they know their status instinctively.Saying that China lost its Confucian roots is like saying that the West lost its Greco-Judeo-Christian roots. Even atheist are Western first and anti-religious second. Note that most given names in the West are derived from Biblical names and that their claims to “rights” can be traced to ancient “democratic” Greece. When Chinese families emigrate, their Confucian upbringing also benefits them when starting life anew in a different culture. Confucianism makes them studious, respectful of others, and goal-oriented. They provide mutual support because the family is more important than the individual. Below is an article that gives a good explanation:“Young Asian Americans have all kinds of good role models to emulate. Their communities and families make sure they get extra help when they need it. Their families, even on limited resources, manage to seek out and move to neighborhoods with good schools. And they aspire to success with specific goals in mind: medicine, law, engineering and pharmacy. And they aim for the best schools.”https://www.washingtonpost.com/n...

Athens - A place to sleep and fun things to do around the city for 4 days?

The cheapest place I can think of, is the YMCA of Athens. You can spend 4 days on the Acropolis and the Parthenon, the Ancient Market and Stoa Attalou, the Flea Market, visit the port of Piraeus, visit Lycabettus Hill using the funicular, go the National Archaeological Museum, the National Garden, have souvlaki and Greek coffee on the street, visit the Greek Orthodox Metropolis between Syntagma Square and the Flea Market, walk through the old part of Athens, Plaka.
If you want to visit places outside Athens, you can buy the one day cruise to the Islands of the Saronic Gulf or visit Cape Sounion and Lavrion.

The choice is yours!

Good luck!
