If your phone has WiFi then turn it on then enter the credentials required. Also check if security is activated. You also have to be in range of the router as WiFi only goes as far as 300 metres.

My main interest in this is: 1) Knowing how the IP is assigned 2) Can someone viewing my IP address determine my approximate location in the way that they can with a regular IP address? 3) How traceable is my IP address on this device? I'm not doing anything terrible, I am just curious - could say, the RIAA sue me for downloading a song - or rather, could they determine through this IP address who had done it? Would that require the cooperation of my wireless provider (Sprint)? Does Spring cooperate in these cases? Anyway I'm just not sure how this works. Thanks.

Android device connects to wifi but no internet?
So I've had my galaxy tablet for over six months now and at first it worked just fine, it was connecting to the internet with no problem. But a month ago the password to our wifi changed, and it worked a few weeks after I entered the new password, but one day I had opened the tablet and I couldn't access the internet at all. The weird thing is that the wifi is still there, it keeps telling me its "saved, secured" but I can't access the internet at all. And it's definitely not a problem with the wifi because ever other device in the house works just fine. And I've tried almost every method: I've forgotten the network and typed it in again, I've rebooted just about anything you can reboot, I've reset it back to factory settings (probably not a smart move, but oh well), I've changed the IP address several times. But nothing seems to work and it keeps saying its connected but with no internet access at all. I really need to fix the tablet soon, so answers would really, really be appreciated. Thank you!

Try to change the adapter settings and make the device shared of which you want to use the internet. You can make it shared by going to the sharing option in the properties and click the button which says ' allow to use this PC internet by others ', then try your virtual router once again
