The most widespread use of diesel is as you have mentioned - to fuel car engines. I would rather make a slight correction to that and say that diesel is used as a fuel for running any engine that uses the Compression-Ignition type technology.So, apart from cars and heavy vehicles, diesel is used in powering generators, locomotives of railways and even aircraft engines in some airships that were produced in the UK, Germany and Russia.Other than engines, diesel is also used as drilling fluid. In this, diesel is generally used as diesel-oil mud which is mixed with 40% brine. It acts as a lubricant and provides low-cost solutions with excellent results. But, recently this use of diesel is being replaced with use of vegetable, mineral and food-grade oil to reduce the adverse impacts on the environment.Diesel is also used for extraction of palladium from used nuclear fuel. This follows the mechanism of solvent extraction and is applicable to the waste of nuclear waste from fission reactions.Also, from the personal experience of conducting crazy experiments - I have used diesel as a solvent for washing off oil-based paints and also as a short term lubricant in the ball-bearings of the wheels of skateboards.Hope it helped. :)

Tharun, my friend...What you are thinking of doing is highly illegal and very, very dangerous...I would suggest that you drop the idea, pronto... Cooking (or Domestic) gas which is available in Gas Cylinders is available at a heavily subsidised rate by the Government...It is only supposed to be used for domestic, cooking purposes...It is highly illegal to use the same gas in vehicles... The LPG that is legally available in petrol pumps (for your Car) is comparatively more expensive...I recommend that you get your car filled up from a petrol pump which supplies LPG... Most people who wish to illegally use domestic LPG as fuel for their vehicles either directly use the domestic gas cylinders in their cars or transfer it to the LPG tank...there are various kinds of pumps (hand-pumps, automated pumps, pedal-operated pumps) available in the black market for transferring LPG from your domestic cylinder to the LPG tank in your car... These pumps might not be very reliable as they are locally manufactured & do not adhere to standard safety norms...therefore there is a high chance of LPG leak while it is being pumped...this could put you, your family & your entire neighbourhood at risk !!! Also if you are caught doing this illegal act, you could be fined heavily & also face the prospect of being jailed... If you use domestic LPG cylinder directly in your car, there is again high risk of being caught or worse, leakages which result in fatalities & death... Instead, install a good quality LPG kit in your car & use LPG which is legally available in petrol pumps...this will give you lots of peace of mind & also you will also be acting as a law-abiding citizen.. Anyway, LPG is quite cheaper than Petrol or Diesel, so you will be saving money... I hope you find my suggestions useful...

We live in a country that has not just survived, but prospered for over 200 years. The "poor" in America typically have housing, food, safe water and medical care provided for them. They also typically have cell phones, cable TV and other luxuries. In other parts of the world the poor often starve to death, have no safe water supply and live in tin shacks. I know, I have been there. heck, you can even see this in Mexico within 20 miles of the border! The politically conservative people in the US want to keep the system that has provided so much intact. The politically liberal people in the US want to make our country more like socialist/communist countries. Unfortunately none of the counties in the world today that have a large socialist element in their government have survived for even half the time that the US has. the single largest growing economy in the country is China. China's economy started to grow when they embraced a more capitalist viewpoint. Now a question for you. What is the single largest cause of death of children in the world? Answer:diarrhea-caused by unsafe water supplies-something that never happens in the US. Why? Because even our poor have it better than most of the rest of the world.
Why must the united states intervene in other countries problems?
There isn't a single dilemma that the US doesn't interfere in other peoples problems. I don't agree AT ALL with america getting involved in the libya conflicts. They have a leader who refused to step down (and he already did step down), how, in any way, is that Americas problem.. And for those of you that think that, that is what the US military is for, you're absolutely wrong.. The US military is to defend the constitution of the US against all enemies foreign and domestic against the United States. How is Libya an enemy of US? To me, this seems like a waste of not only time, but what will also turn out to be many American lives as well. When did America become the WorldWide Government Developers? BQ - And why the hell are we still in Iraq/Afghanistan? And don't tell me oil, because that's BS.. There is plenty of oil right here in America. If it weren't for those tree hugging hippie EPAs, then we could save American lives and drill for it right here and not be so dependent upon other nations.
