Conservatives Proof Read Your Questions And Answers

Is the Nature Conservancy liberal or conservative?

Generally conservative. I read their quarterly mags. I don't have any links.

How often does a conservative answer a question and includes a snide remark about liberals?

Personally? About as often as liberals answer with snide remarks about conservatives. I actually make it a point when answering questions left open to political opinion to take a glance at the tone and snobbery of liberal answers and apply maybe half of that snide to my own answer, just to “Quora content moderation has collapsed your answer to ….”. It doubles as proof of moderation bias and liberal snowflakery (is that a word?).Sometimes I’ll get real specific and just make the same point a liberal made but switch liberal with conservative. Still gets collapsed. This conservative is about half as snide towards liberals as liberals to conservatives. Not always of course, I usually save it for one answer a day but it proves a point to me nonetheless.I’ll leave you with a quote left to me by a liberal Quoran on one of my most recent answer“FAYK NOOZ!!! FAYK NOOZ! FAYK NOOZ! FAYK NOOZ! FAYK NOOZ! FAYK NOOZ! FAYK NOOZ! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYKKKKKKKKKKKK NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ”Rest assured, my snide comments are a little more sophisticated than all that.Do I think conservatives can sometimes be a little snide or outright disrespectful towards liberals? Sure and more than I like. Do they give as good as they get? You bet.

As a liberal, what goes through your mind when read conservative answers on Quora?

I sometimes feel dismay for the state of public education in America. Someone can know a lot about history and economics, and still have reasonably conservative beliefs—but many conservatives express opinions that reveal a profound and frustrating ignorance. To be fair, many people on the left (not Democrats and other centrists but the real left) hold beliefs outside the range that fact-based critical thinking can support.Improving the education system would not make everyone have the same political stance, but it would reduce the number of people on the far right and far left, and would make for more interesting political debates.

Why is it every time a conservative asks a question on here liberals bash the questioner instead of trying to see things from a different perspective and answering the question?

That’s not true. Plenty of conservatives ask thoughtful questions that are answered civilly and respectfully. On the other hand — at least on my Quora feed — a significant majority of conservative ‘questions’ tend to be ignorant, belligerent and passive-aggressive, based on factually disproven right-wing memes, couched in all manner of clumsy logical fallacies, and very often aren’t actually questions at all, merely opinions with a question mark at the end.In other words: troll questions.Just a few examples:Is the democratic party’s goal to make Americans less free? Is so, are liberal voters aware of this? Why do American Communists call themselves Democrats? Can it be that 56% of Democrats consider themselves Socialist? All I read on this site are a bunch of Trump bashers, I am so sick of it. Do you see that they are in no way honest questions seeking honest answers? Now, do you see why moronic spewings like this are met with … less than open arms by the better informed and less intellectually-challenged among Quora users? There’s your answer, Jacob (nice name, by the way … it’s what I named my son).Have a great day.

Why do religeous conservatives hate gays and lesbians?

I was brought up to be accepting of everyone, so in a college Anthropology class I was mystified by any kind of "ism" (racism, sexism, etc.) I asked my instructor to explain this to me, and I was so impressed by his answer it has stayed with me for years:

In our ancient past, there was SURVIVAL VALUE in being wary and cautious of anyone who was "different" from one's own tribe. Example: in your tribe, waving the right hand means "hello, friend". You met humans from another tribe, to whom that means "I'm going to kill you!" So you waved. And they tried to kill you! So you learned that any time you meet someone from a tribe not your own, you cannot count on anything meaning the same as it does to you!

Also, consider this: homosexuals cannot reproduce "naturally". So if the goal was survival of our species (which it was back then, before overpopulation), anyone who engaged in homosexual behavior "threatened" the species goal.

Fast forward to today. Homophobia exists because our society is very uneven in how it grows and develops. We have grown to the point where gays and lesbians cannot be legally discriminated against. Yet humans have the same "hard-wiring" we have always had, which says different=bad. And non-reproduction=bad. We know we don't really NEED more humans on the Earth, yet our programming tells us to reproduce. And there are still some religions who promote and reward cranking out lots of kids, and/or punish those who artificially limit their reproduction.

Or different=scary.

Religious conservatives are scared, in general. They are a good example of ethno- religio- and every other- centrism. (-centrism loosely defined is "mine is better than yours", i.e., ethnocentrism is "my ethnic group is better than yours", etc.)

So in answer to your question, the answer is "Yes. Religious (and other) conservatives DO need a minority (or "other") to beat up on. It makes them feel safer, more in control, more "right" (no pun intended) to do so.

That was a pretty verbose answer. The short version is:

Phobia = irrational fear. Once upon a time, the fear of anyone different was rational. In modern times, it isn't. Our social conscience evolution has not keep up.

What do you some of you conservatives think of other conservatives when they say we liberals are not tolerable and act this way?

Let give you an example, because I'm seriously not making up, some of them claim that most of us liberals are intolerant, that's not true, we are not obligated to tolerate people who act bigoted and hateful towards people who are different in society, that includes having hateful opinions, especially in the 21st century. I tolerate diversity, that does not mean I have to sit there and tolerate someone's bigoted and hateful opinion, if I said something racist, would you tolerate my behavior and those opinions, heck no. You're allowed to say anything you want, or hold any opinion, as long as it is not discriminatory mainly especially but if that opinion harms someone, or a group of people, then we will have a problem. Another example: If you were in a restaurant, and witnessed a gay or lesbian couple was being denied to eat at that restaurant, because of their sexual orientation, would you seriously tolerate this discriminatory behavior? No a decent human being would not tolerate this behavior. I want to hear some of your opinions on this, because this get's on my nerves for real, I just want to know out of curiosity, because I know not all conservatives act like this or this way.

Why are some conservatives so dumb?

Your questions cannot be answered. They are nothing more than logical fallacies. To illustrate my point, try asking yourself, "Why am I so dumb?, Why is it that I am so dense as to what is going on in the country today?, How can I give such blind hatred to a president who is clearly ... working in the best interest of the American people?, When did being me become more important than being and American?, Am I stupid or just too lazy to pay attention?" As you can see, it is not possible to answer the questions.

If you would like meaningful answers to specific questions, try including references to things that demonstrate your question. For example, you could ask, "Why was Dick Chaney so stupid as to shoot his friend?" The answer of course, is that it was an accident. If you believe the president is not working in the best interest of the country, please explain why and you may get responses that address the issue.

On the other hand, the questions themselves really do demostrate why conservatives are smart and you are not.

What would happen if DNA followed the Conservative distribution model?

It would work but would allow for many mutations. The reason a semi-conservative model is used is because it allows for 'proof-reading'. When the cell replicates its DNA, the new strand is paired up with one of the original strands. The replication process isn't perfect, so sometimes mistakes are made. If this happens, then the two DNA strands will not pair up properly because some of the nucleotides won't be complementry. When this happens, the cells proof-reading machinery (usually DNA polymerase I) arrives at the site with the mutation and changes the new strand to match the old strand.
If both strands were new, the cell wouldn't know which strand to correct, so has a 50/50 chance of getting it right, leading to more mutations.
That is why semi-conservative method is used, it makes it easier to correct mistakes
