Constant Migraines What To Do

Can I get a doctors note for constant migraines?

I have suffered from migraines for years (apparently my uncle used to get them), but recently they are far worse. Apart from the disorientation and sensitivity to light and sound, I get an unbearable pain in the back of my head. I have found nothing helps ease the pain apart from lying down in a dark room and waiting for it to pass. I have had to go home sick from work on several occasions (I get approx one migraine per month), and I was issued with a first formal warning for having a high level of sickness (three sicknesses in six months). I had to go home from work last night, and ended up crashing my car on the way home and vomited violently in the street. Recently I am also getting a pulsating pain behind my left eye. If I could get some form of an exemption note from my GP, it would make things easier with work, as a migraine is the number one excuse for employees who aren't genuinely ill. It's also worth noting I work in a casino, so the lights and music make it a lot harder to cope with. Thank you!

Horrible constant migraines?

Since I was 15, I've been having problems with migraines. They are awful, I just remember one day having this throbbing pain in my head, and ever since today it never has gone away. I can't take it anymore; I really can't. I THINK it's hormonal, maybe, they ALWAYS begin in the mornings. I have a cramping in my temple that lets me know I'm going to have one, that goes on for (2-3) hours. Then it becomes unbearable, followed by nausea. They last for 24+ hours. I don't see any flashing lights, spots, etc. I can't go to the doctor til May 15 because my step-dad has no insurance. I've tried everything else though, excedrin, asprin, changed my diet, drank more water, watched out for foods, regulated my sleeping pattern. Nothing seems to stop these awful things. I want my life back, I can't take worrying all the time, not being able to do things because of these migraines. ANY ANY informative help would be great, thank you so much. (Also they come every 2 weeks)

What do you use for migraines or constant pain?

I am a Chronic Intractable Migraine patient. This means that I am in constant pain. I suffer an intractable headache that becomes full blown Migraine attacks frequently. My average pain level on the one to 10 scale, runs about 4 or 5. My full blown attacks have been as high as a nine on that same scale - I’ve yet to experience one that actually made me pass out from the pain. A nine on the pain scale includes uncontrollable sobbing, cries of pain without provocation and even the inability to communicate in a comprehensive manner.Because I have trialed and failed therapy with everything that is presently available, I have been prescribed a ‘cocktail’ of medications that I take to address my attacks, intended to minimize my suffering until it subsided to a bearable, manageable level. This cocktail consists of a narcotic pain medication, an antihistamine, an anti-emetic, and occasionally a steroid. I don’t include the steroid very often because frequent use can pull calcium from my bones, and I have already faced a diagnosis of osteopenia - the precursor for osteoporosis, for which I am genetically vulnerable.

Does chronic hypoglycemia cause constant migraines?

It can; but it depends on the severity of the lows, and the frequency of the occurances. I live with frequent lows - but usually at the “high end”of the scale - in other words, not so low that I’m often unconscious or intellectually impaired, but only shakey and weak; I’ve always been very cognizant of my BG circumstances - even before BG meters were invented, I had a good understanding of where I was; now, I can predict fairly accurately what my BG is going to be when I do a BG test with a meter. But anyway… when I’ve experienced quick follow-on lows, or several more severe ones in a couple days’ time, I’ve had headache issues; but once I’ve kept my BG in the normal range (80 or better) for a couple of days, they’ve always gone away.OTOH - a few days of running high will give me headaches and stomach ache as well. Sadly, we’re just not meant to have to control our BG levels manually - God’s original intended method (with the endocrine pancreas doing all the work automatically) is clearly the better method. Oh well… no more of that for me! ;-)

I have constant headaches what should i do?

I am 24 years old. Starting about six months ago I startred having headaches. They are unlike any headaches I have had in the past. It can be best described as a fullness in my head my ears get full my eyes hurt and my head feels "fuzzy". It is an everyday thing now has been for 3-4 weeks. Sometimes I also expierience very sharp pains moving up and down the sides of my head. These pains are almost enough to knock me over. This condition makes it so I am unable to concentrate and unable to find any kind of joy in life. Also just today I have had two nosebleeds. Please help me I hope a doctor can read this and tell me what it could be. I am willing to talk further via email or messenger if anyone wants to tell me more or wants to know more about how I am feeling. Please help me I can't live like this, I will go crazy.

What do constant headaches mean?

Could be a number of things. I don't know how old she is, or what region you live in, but sinus & allergies can certainly cause a persistant headache. Try an over the counter antihistamine/ decongestant. Also give tylenol or ibuprofen for the pain. If it isn't sinus/allergy related, she could have vision problems. Does she squint when she reads or watches television? If so, she may need glasses. Constant strain on your eyes definitely can cause headaches. If that doesn't help, you may need to take her to the doctor.

Constant headaches...?

A bit of background on me, is I am a 17 year old female, and haven't had my blood checked for about 10 years...

For the past few seven days, I've been getting headaches constantly. They occur first thing when I wake up almost daily, and they vary in location. The pain seems to move to different parts of my head throughout the day.

For example, it'll start in the back of my head, then move towards the front, and soon turn into a migraine. It lasts more then four hours for sure, and sometimes goes away for a few hours before coming back.

The pain is a severe pressure and throbs most of the time, and it makes me unable to focus on school and it seems to get worse through daily activities. >_<
I also have been feeling lightheaded, and not myself lately...

Does it sound like something I should have checked out soon?
((Please, only serious answers. Thank you!))

What do you do if you have constant headaches?

Go to your doctor! There are many different types of headaches for many different reasons. They need to figure out what kind you have before they can work on a solution.I suffer from chronic migraines. At their worst I would have migraines for 3–4 days with out a break, then maybe a day off if I was lucky before the next one started. I averaged 25 migraine days a month. We finally figured out the right medication combo for me. I take daily meds to help prevent them and a different med when I feel one starting. I also have to eat regularly and stay hydrated to try and prevent them.Headaches are horrible, but you need your doctors help to figure out a game plan. There is hope!
