If you have never had a job can you file for unemployment?

you can file but it will be a waste of your time.........
you will not qualify because you have no earnings in the past 15 months.
you will not be eligible because you have not lost a job.

on a side note:
employees do NOT pay into unemployment insurance.
unemployment is funded by employer contributions (based on their total payroll and history), state, and federal tax revenues
(so yes in a way you do pay into it, but not as a deduction as 'hr4me' seems to think you do)....

Why did education increase during the industrial revolution and examples?

What are the three contributory benefits in the United Kingdom?

Peter Hawkins has it correct. If someone is asking you to name just three contributory benefits, they’re probably thinking of Jobseekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance (which have contributory versions) and Incapacity Benefit (which is entirely contributory).Incapacity Benefit is no longer available to new claimants. It, and its means tested companion, Income Support on grounds of incapacity, were replaced in 2007 by Employment and Support Allowance.People don’t like to think of the State Retirement Pension as a “benefit”, because many like to maintain the pretence that they’ve “never taken a penny in benefits” in their lives, but it is in fact a contributory benefit in exactly the same way as the others.

Are British passports divided into English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish?

Of course there is only one type of regular passport issued to all British citizen.
http://www.consilium.europa.eu/prado/EN/... ..

However let me still make some remarks to your question and the previous answers.

Puerto Rico does not have different passports; all U.S. citizen regardless of living in the mainland or its territories are issued the same type of U.S. passport.

There is a Puerto Rican fantasy passport but that's an art project.

The term British passport is ambiguous. Citizen of British overseas territories are also issued British passports, but the term "European Union" is missing to show they are not entitled EU travel rights.
The blue Bermudian passport cover states "BRITISH PASSPORT" on the top and "GOVERNMENT OF BERMUDA" on the bottom.

Although the internal border controls have been abolished on the European continent in countries of the Schengen zone you are still required to hold the appropriate documents when crossing the borders. The only acceptable documents are:
◙ passport or
◙ national ID card.
Citizen of those countries that do not issue national ID cards (Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Norway) or that do not want to carry national ID cards (United Kingdom) need to hold their passports for border crossing, regardless whether the border is manned or not.

Edit: [based on additional contribution]
@Tom: you are right, nobody should force a U.S. territory to keep its status. However you should also be aware of the fact that independancy also means to be independant from financial support by U.S. tax payers..

How's Child Support figured in a commission only job?

I've just been served with an order to meet with a child support agency in NC. I've been paying support since my daughter was born, but it's never been court ordered, just worked out between us. Now that the mom is trying to go through the courts, what should I expect? We make approximately the same amount a year. She is paid hourly, I am strictly commission.

The agreement to this point has been we split childcare cost 50/50. She pays for insurance (she has much better insurance) and I pay for any co pays, etc. I also provide her with extra money from time to time as she needs it. I have receipts from nearly everything I have given her from day one also, just in case.

For the first three years, we split custody approximately 3 days with me, 2 days with the moms parents, and 2 days with the mom. Recently (withen the past 6 months) it's changed to 4 days with the mom, 2 with me, and 1 with her parents.

Thanks for any advice.

How is it working in Amazon India as a seller support associate? Does Amazon have any policy for its employees to change their departments later after joining?

Hello there!Just a quick heads-up that I've been hired to support Amazon UK and Germany within our Indian office. Therefore, some policies may differ in terms of the process of Indian support and EU support. It's been a while I've been a Seller Support Associate (SSA) and I must say, it's interesting yet challenging and tedious at the same time. Me being solely on email support, handling seller queries and providing timely resolutions have now become a part of my life. At times, the queries are difficult to deal with and providing a resolution could be a sweat. Sometimes, you get annoying requests from sellers and handling that via email would be exigent.Moving on, we have internal targets to meet such as handling an x amount of cases for that day. This would mean to act quickly on queries and provide suitable solutions on the same. Moreover, there are situations we have to directly get in touch with sellers via phone calls (Being hired solely for email support) when problems get out of hand. Overtime, you'll reach your exasperation levels and wanting to quit, then again, no job is spoon fed or easy.Nevertheless, these are balanced by working with your colleagues and actually having some good time on the floor. I mean, there's music, food you can have at your desk and timely treats by management based on occasions like regional or national holidays. In fact, we have fun activities (games) every other week and mini gifts would be awarded! Fun Yeah!As for your follow-up question, yes, Amazon does care about its employees and welcome any requests to shift departments. This is known as Internal Job Posting (IJP), where you may have to update your resume from time to time based on the profile you would like to apply within Amazon. If your performance in the current role is at par or exceeding, you can request your manager to leave a feedback on your Amazon Jobfinder profile (Internal engine for job postings) should your desired profile position open up. However, moving from a Support to any Operations team would be difficult or not possible as the criterion will change. For example, you being a commerce graduate, applying for operations or technical process will require you have a science or engineering degree. Nonetheless, you can always give a shot and based on my experience, confidence and willpower to handle such processes are already job half done!I hope this was helpful. Cheers!

How much do Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and England contribute to the UK's economy as a whole?

According to Oxford Economics, in the financial year 2006/07 Northern Ireland paid £11.5 billion into the national accounts and received £18.7 billion out, for a net 'cost' of £7.2 billion to the rest of the UK. In context, total tax receipts for the country as a whole were £520 billion and expenditure within the UK £538.5 billion. (And yes, the gap between those numbers is the national deficit.)The actual figure will vary from year to year, of course. Also, deciding how to allocate spending by region is a matter of discussion. Some things, like schools and hospitals, can easily be assigned to the region they are located in; but how do you allocate shares of national spending like defence? Strictly per capita, or by regional tax income? Likewise for receipts: if someone lives in Wales and works in Birmingham, do the taxes they pay count against Wales's share of the national revenue or that of the West Midlands? Here's an overview of the entire country:Note that the only parts of the UK which pay out more than they receive are London and the South East - in effect, they're providing a £38 billion subsidy to the rest of the country. North Sea Oil is included in Scotland's revenue. Of the £49.5 billion in taxes paid in Scotland, £17.5 billion was from income tax and national insurance, £5.5 billion from VAT, £9 billion from the petroleum revenue tax, £3.9 billion from corporation tax, £3.8 billion from council tax and business rates, £3.7 billion from fuel, tobacco and alcohol duties, and the rest from multiple minor sources. In Northern Ireland, the £11.5 billion in taxes divides up as £4.4 billion income tax and national insurance, £2.1 billion from VAT, £1.0 billion from corporation tax, £0.8 billion from council tax and business rates, £1.2 billion from fuel, tobacco and alcohol duties.London paid £98 billion in taxes, divided up as £49 billion income tax and national insurance, £14 billion from VAT, £7.8 billion from corporation tax, £7.5 billion from council tax and business rates, £4.0 billion from fuel, tobacco and alcohol duties.
