Is there any way to convert from NTFS to exFAT without losing data?
While it is possible, because it’s possible doesn’t mean you should do it. The fragmentation that would result would be crippling and any time you format a partition there is a real risk of data loss. I would simply back up the partition and format then restore the partition. Remember FAT partitions lack any kind of journaling and are extremely inefficient file systems prone to fragmentation. If you convert rather than recopy the files you will almost certainly see corruption of files if not immediately, within a few months of doing the conversion.

Converting disk volumes from dynamic to basic deletes all drive volumes, and therefore loses all data stored on those drives. it cant happen if u had connected properly there in ur office... now, u ll ve to format ur disk... there is no other way... if u want to regain ur data (if u feel them to be imp), get back to ur off n reconnect again using the same config n the same hard disk which u had connected earlier (ofcourse same pc), then copy to that hard disk (office one) and again get ur hard disk formatted n then paste them back.. i hope u cud get me.. if not, contact me on yahoo msger i wud tell u how to do online....

H is again the letter of the drive to be converted.6) The command prompt will start the conversion process and after a few minutes, CMD will say that conversion was successful.7) You can check it in the properties of the drive through right click

I trying to search what software i use to fix corrupted HDD without format, I experience in this case but, I use EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard i wait almost one day to fix this issue on my HDD, but i don’t care for how many hours i wait as long as i can recover my all files on my hard drive, everything is fine. :)
Converting FAT32 > NTFS Failed?
So I tried to convert my external to ntfs from fat32 on windows 7 pro Convert E: /fs:ntfs /V /Nosecurity /X I let it do its stuff, until it comes out with this error Unable to notify other components that the volume has changed. I stare at it for a minute, and try to open the drive. Windows errored out and said that it was corrupted. I restarted the system, and apparently it's still corrupted. Disk Manager says it's RAW fs Convert thinks the disk is already NTFS Computer says it's corrupted I really need to keep what I saved on that drive. Is it possible to access the raw in Linux or something to save it? Or is all my data on this drive dead?
How do you format a raw partition as either MBR or GPT?
MBR or the newer GPT are in reference to the HD itself. You set up either the old style Master Boot Record or newer GPT for the whole disk not just a partition. If the HD already has some partitions being used don't chnge the type of disk. Just format your partition as NTFS and be done with it.
