Cooling Fan Unit Or Just The Fan Motor

What type of hydraulic oil should i use on 2000 lincoln ls fan motor?

According to Ford service manual the hydraulically driven cooling fan on you LS uses Mercon automatic transmission fluid for hydraulic oil. You should be able to get ATF that meets Mercon specifications at any parts house, Ford no longer markets Mercon ATF, they have superseded it with Mercon 5 and have told us we can use the Mercon 5 in place of the Mercon.

How to bleed a hydraulic fan motor on a lincoln ls 2000 with a 3.9 ingine?

You basically 'suck' any air out of the system by applying vacuum to the reservoir lid. I used my brake bleeder vacuum pump and wrapped enough tape around the hose to create a plug that can seal the cap lid hole.
- Fill the hydraulic cooling fan reservoir to the MAX line
- Apply 20-25in-hg (-10psi) vacuum for two to three minutes.
- Close the reservoir cap and start the engine - turn the A/C on MAX. This will run the hydraulic fan. If a whining noise is heard, repeat the procedure.

Cooling Question (A/C Fan Speeds)?

I have an aireflow blower/furnace unit currently being used for cooling. its hard to keep the house consistantly cool, as it is large with 2 floors. i was wondering if theres a way to set this particular model to run constantly in a low fan mode (consuming less energy when the compressors arent on. The model number is AF90MPE100U4B and it is a 4 year old AireFlow model. there are no visible selectors in the unit suggesting that this can be done with a quick flick of a switch. Thanks for any info in advance. il post any updates if you need more info. Eric.

What does the auxiliary fan motor do?

I was ordering a compressor fan assembly (motor, shroud, fan) for a 1998 Mazda Protege when I came across the auxiliary fan motor. What purpose does the auxiliary fan motor serve? Is it the motor included in the compressor fan assembly? Doesn't make sense, since the assembly costs $50, whereas the auxiliary fan costs $90+.

Should you run an air conditioner and a ceiling fan together?

Well it depends upon the size of room if the room is big and fan is a bit far from AC say 2–3 meters) then it shouldn't be switched onWhat exactly happens ?AC cools the air , hot air is lighter than the cold air hence hot air occupies the above volume of the room. When you switch on the fan it takes this hot air and mixes it with the cold air resulting in increase in the room temperature (but you won't notice it because you are under the fan which is supplying air)AC has temperature sensor (which switchs on & off the compressor) to maintain the constant temperature (set by the user) now the compressor runs longer time if the fan is on because of gradually mixing of hot and cold air resulting the sensor not to detect exact temperature which leads to formation of ice in the air vent of the AC chamber, this ice blocks the air vents reducing the efficiency of the AC to 50% of the given efficiency. The ice melts over a period of time. This melted ice is the water falling from the AC.

Why does my cooling fan come on once the engine is turned off and ignition back on?

The main work of cooling fan is to remove the heat from the radiator. Ideally, when the vehicle moves, the forward induced air allows to dissipate the heat of hot engine. The radiator has thin fins which allows the air to move fast and remove all the heat from the running engine. When the temperature of the engine becomes very hot, a thermocouple sensor is linked to the engine which notifies the ECU (An Electrical circuit Unit) of the vehicle which allows the cooling fan to be turned on and that allows more air to be induced in the radiator to cool down the temperature. So, if your engine is turned off, then the cooling fan will automatically go off. But, it doesn’t reduce the temperature of the engine. So as soon as you start your vehicle, the sensor sends the signal that the temperature is high which allows the cooling fan to be turned on.

How long does it take to change a radiator fan motor?

Shouldn't take too long as a few bolts and move a few items and theradiator fan and shroud come out. Motor unbolts from the fan and shroud at that point on your workbench and simply reverse to reinstall. I'd say an hour at the longest.
