Is it just me or do you think cops don't rat eachother out?
What do you think IAD (Internal Affairs Division) does for a living? They are cops. Do they not put away other cops? That being said, sure some cops would cover for others. Would you tell on your friend? How about your brother or sister? How about your own mother? What makes one more acceptable than the other? Which is the norm and which is not? If you would not rat out your own mother, then wouldn't you be just as bad as a dirty cop? What would happen if someone called they cops saying you were suicidal?
They most certainly can do something. If you are suicidal you will be brought either to a medical or mental facility and placed under 72 hour watch. What happens from there depends greatly on many things. When someone threatens suicide it is not to be taken lightly, and your friends are good ones because they are concerned about you. If you are feeling suicidal, get help.
Are you a cop??
Ok can anyone out there once and for all tell me if the "Are you a cop?" line really works or not? I am not a fan of prostitution being illegal but a friend and I were talking and he is telling me if a girl asks an undercover office who is trying to arrest "call girls" or whatever you want to call them, he has to say he is otherwise it won't be a legal arrest. Or vice versus if an undercover office was the girl and a dude asked her "are you a cop?". I think he is full of crap and the officer can lie and then arrest you when you try to solicite. Anyone know the truth here? Thanks!
Cops are pulling me over, and I have 55 grams of marijuana in my vehicle. Should I hide the weed to the best of my abilities or cooperate and tell them I have marijuana in the car?
Never, ever tell the cops you have anything on you. They say tell me and I'll take it easy on you, that is a lie. I'm sure you know whàt the Miranda rights are, in lay terms it means you have the right to shut the f#$% up. Do it. I will now give you some streetcraft that will save your ass from this day forward. Don't do it sometimes, or most of the time, do it every time. Go to mailboxes etc, ups, whatever and get a padded Manila envelope, the kind with the sticky seal that you pull off to seal the envelope. Put about 10 stamps on it and put an address on it. Any address and a return address, not your home address and not your name anywhere on it. Put all drugs you may be carrying and any paraphernalia you have on you in this envelope. You don't have to seal it, just carry all your illegal stuff in it. In the event you get pulled over or a cop approaches you, pull the tab and seal the envelope. As long as there is postage on it and it is addressed to somebody, and it is sealed up the police can't open it. If they do that is a federal offense. They may tell you you have to open it or they will get dogs to sniff it, whatever, just say “an acquaintance asked me to put this in the mail for them, I don't know what's in it, it was sealed when I got it and opening other people's mail is a federal offense.” No matter what they say don't open it, and since neither your name or address is on it you can't open it either without committing a federal offense. This trick has worked for me many, many times. I asked my criminal law Prof at u of Texas “if I had a client that wanted to transport illegal substances what would I tell them?” This is what he said and I have done it for 25 years. Never been busted for anything. I had a half pound of sticky icky weed in the envelope that you could smell from 50/feet away, was pulled over, cop said I was going to jail if I didn't open it, I just replied “that is a sealed package with postage on it, it is mail, I will not commit a federal offense because you tell me to, I need to speak to a lawyer” once you say the phrase “I want a lawyer” any and all questions must stop. Hopefully you clicked record on your phone and there is a record of this. If so, you are golden. Do this and someday in the future you will see how effective it is and you will get back on quora and thank me. Do us all a favor and tell everybody you know this trick, it works, it works gangbusters.
I got arrested for something i didn't do?
You should retain a lawyer as soon as possible. You made a number of mistakes in dealing with the cop; several other people here have already enumerated them so I won't repeat them. If you're truly innocent then you can hope that the lawyer can get the theft charge dismissed, because the other charge is just an add-on to that. The district attorney's office will pile as many charges on you as he can think of in order to try and get you to plea-bargain to one or two of them. I figure you'll get as serious a theft charge as they can come up with, resisting arrest, fleeing the scene of a crime, and failure to provide proper identification to a law enforcement official, and that's just for starters. They can spend lots of time,money, and legal expertise to prosecute you; your only hope is to have someone who has some expertise on your side. Get an attorney.
What are you allowed to say to a cop without getting into trouble?
Here is the deal if you want to say something against cops, say they are bums. Say they are useless, say they stink. This way your not swearing and they cant arrest you for saying cussing . Especially since your not referring to whatever cop personally that hears you. if you have a criminal record keep your comments to yourself. And even if your not a criminal if they hear you say something that just might find a reason to mess with you. Near all the police i have met have been rude, unprofessional and have never helped me. I have had my share of police encounters, and every time both parties are in the wrong according to law. The cops i have encountered have no common decency, honor or professionalism. They abuse their badge, i have witnessed it. I was at a mcdonalds and some guy started talking stuff to me so i motioned him come on over and try it. He comes over telling me i am a wimp and all this, and i said i am not going to fight you. WIth that he says your a B with an itch. He shoves me in the chest back against the table, at the time he was talking i stuck my hand in my pocket. No sooner had he shoved me back i hopped back up and put mace to his face. No one there saw the situation, we both got hand cuffed. As i was getting handcuffed i said what do you want me to do with the mace, he said i will take it. I told him you should probably put the safety on that way you dont accidently spray yourself. I was being PROFESSIONALLY courteous. They took our stories, verdict BOTH GUILTY. bunch of hog poop! It was self defense had the cops used their brains they would have thought to themself, if the macer was the bad guy why didnt he put the hurt to the macee. After all the macee was blinded, i could have socked him a couple good ones and left. THE COPS WOULD HAVE NOT HAD ANYTHING ON ME EXCEPT THE DUDES WORD, which would not hold up mine against his. the other guy was stupid for staying there while the cops were on their way, i felt i was in the right and i wasnt about to turn tail and run. Just another example of my cities finest in action, THE CITIZENS PAY COPS PAYCHECKS. They seem to forget that.
I got a speeding ticket, the cop said he got me on his "rear radar."Is there such a thing? What should I do?
My hubby a police officer and he has a rear radar in his car! so yes there is such a thing! The radar is in the front too but there's a thing also in the fron that reads the speed of cars wether it was from the front radar gun or the back, so that explains why he looked at the front of his car when he checked the speed! I would just pay the ticket and be done with it! It happend to me before too..lol yeah i am a officers wife and I still got a ticket...lol... so not all get away with speeding..lol good luck!!
