Coughing Sore Throat Painful Esophagus

How to rid sore throat pain (esophagus, not uvula)?

You probably have a mild case of cobblestone throat (Little cuts on the back of the throat from coughing or post nasal drip) Do what the other guy said and gargle salt water, if that doesn't work, take a cough drop. If THAT doesn't work, go to your doctor and ask him for some antibiotics that he can prescribe to you.

What is possibly the esophageal pain I feel from my throat down to my sternum?

After just getting over the flu and having a cough, I have horrible, almost constant esophageal pain. It's a feeling as if I have swallowed a potato chip, and it's traveling down the tube. I'm only coughing up the normal amount of mucus as normal, as I smoke, but haven't much since this pain (maybe 2 at most a day). It also hurts to eat anything. What could this possibly be?

My esophagus hurts when I swallow anything or laugh. What is wrong with me?

Sounds like esophageal reflux. It can be VERY painful. When I used to get it, I would have to down about 1/3 of a bottle of Pepto Bismol. It's kind of an indigestion. I got it a lot when I was overweight. Drink lots of water too. Go to the doctor if it's still bothering you in a couple of days.
He might prescribe something.

Is there any correlation between chronic coughing/bronchitis and esophageal strictures?

You may feel like you have the esophageal stricture because the chronic coughing etc. is causing irritation to your throat and esophagus. The stricture would not be caused by the bronchitis, but the inflammation could cause stricture like symptoms. With true esophageal stricture, it will not go away when your upper respiratory symptoms go away. It is a chronic condition.

Does purging cause sore throats?

Sure it does.

It's possible you've scratched your esophagus or the back of your throat. It is just as likely that food particles are lodged in the back of your tonsils- which gets very sore.

Try gargling with warm salt water, don't swallow it, spit it out, and repeat, should take the soreness (and any food particles and most germs) out.

I have a sore throat and it tastes like blood?

Infections in the mouth, throat or teeth have that sort of taste. It could also be sinus drainage that has irritated the back of your throat. At night time the drainage that would normally go down your throat and into your stomach will pool in the back of your throat. It's a caustic substance that will cause irritation and swelling there. To thin the secretions and make them less irritating drink lots of liquids including pineapple juice.
