Could A 23 Year Old Have A Heart Attack

Heart attack at 20 years old?

I'm a male of 20 years old, I weight 200 lbs. I've been having a feeling of pressure on the upper left side of my chest for a week now its a mild feeling and it doesn't get any worse sometimes I feel it on the upper part of the left side of my chest and sometimes on the lower part but never in the middle or in the right side of my chest, that feeling its more noticeable when I'm resting, yesterday I had a a feeling of tightness on my left shoulder blade, When I'm active I don't notice that feeling at all, I can actually feel heart beat faster when I'm doing something very active and I feel very normal, I don't have any other sort of pain on any other part of my body as of my jaw, arm or back, What I've being noticing though its that when I'm starting to think about me having a heart attack because of those symptoms that I'm experiencing and start to panicking my palms start to get all sweaty, I feel dizzy and with nausea, but it seems that I only feel like that when I'm actually thinking about it, when I completely forget about it I'm fine, this is very confusing honestly, I've googling my symptoms and all takes me to heart diseases other people have told me that it might be because I'm stressed out and it might be that, two weeks ago I was getting into depression because I was unable to find a job and this Monday something came up at a restaurant in the kitchen and its been hard for me since its my first time working there, there is a lot to memorize a lot to learn and its been that "Stressing" Today I used a machine my pops uses to calculate his heartbeat and BP, and I came out with a heartbeat of 62 b/m when resting and BP of 137. any thoughts ??

What are the chances of a 19-20 year old getting heart attack?

You're not going to have a heart attack because of two months of bad food, unless your father and grandfather also died of heart attacks at a very early age.  You probably know this already. You will die of a heart attack faster / younger than your healthy-eating peers, but it will take a while--like 50 instead of 70, or 70 instead of 90.You will be much more likely to get Type2 diabetes, which increases your heart attack risk, as a result of your lifestyle choices. In all of the "lifestyle" diseases, you have a buffer--20 years or so, depending on what your parents and grandparents gave you in the genetic lottery--of "good" health, before the macaroni hits the fan.  The hard part is realizing when you're 20 how close 40 actually is.  Many of us on the high side of 40 rather wish we'd understood those years & choices differently.Good luck.

What age can you have a heart attack?

Myocardial infarction (heart attack) may occur at virtually any age. At age 23 however you are not at risk for a myocardial infarction unless you have a congenital cardiac anomaly. If you saw your physician for a physical examination that would have excluded the vast majority of such problems. An electrocardiogram (ECG unless you speak German in which case it is an EKG) is actually of little benefit in your circumstance. The ECG records only 10% of the heart's electrical activity. As such if it is abnormal the finding is likely a true positive but if it is normal it offers no reassurance. People with normal coronary arteries - especially women - may have a myocardial infarction around age 30 but the prognosis is excellent. The only other people that have heart attacks as young as age 30 most often have congenital dyslipidemia meaning very high levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. If none of the above circumstances apply it is uncommon for a male to have a myocardial infarction younger than age 55 and it is uncommon for a female to have a myocardial infarction younger than age 65. If I may be of further assistance please let me know. I wish you and your family the very best of health and in all things may God bless.

Can you have a heart attack at the age of 30?

Since late last night, I have had really strange gripping pain in the middle upper chest (right under the collar bones and sternum) and across my upper ribs through my back. It feels like a vise around my upper torso. I can't get a deep breath. My right hand keeps feeling tingly.
Is there anything else that can explain symptoms like this?
I am not on any medicine and was not doing anything strenuous. The pain has remained nearly constant since about 9pm last night.

I did call my doctor, she seemed to dismiss my symptoms because of my age and I have normally quite low blood pressure. I feel like she is not taking me seriously. However, she advised me to go to the ER if I was really worried.
