What is a teacher of record?

the short version: "teacher of record" is a full teacher, hired and working in a district. It is not a student teacher. I would be the teacher of record in my classroom.

Here is why it is no longer an option for you: states instituted "emergency" teaching credentials in the 90s to meet some demands in certain areas where teacher candidates were scarce. In 2002, NCLB effectively outlawed such practices - but because math and science were still highly needed - they continued them for a few years. In this economy, there are fully credentialed teachers in every state looking for work - some with decades of experience.

What you will find in that nontraditional route is that you were expected to find a job on your own in a district who could find no one else...Then the district would pay a university to train you after schools and on weekends. You would earn your credential that way - while working - in about 2-3 years.

The key is you have to find a job - and NCLB prevents any district from even considering you if there are other candidates.

Following that, the admin can start working on firing the teacher. Again, they need to see improvement and an adherence to standards.I had to deal with this recently as a union rep. The teacher's comments and actions were pretty appalling, but it will take effort to fire the teacher. He flies close enough to the radar that it's a coin toss as to what will happen. Even he admits that much of it was questionable.

We value privacy to the degree that we think that kind of thing is just a little creepy!

ok people I asked if they got the most time off. did i anywhere in there say anything about it being easy lol no. im in the process of becoming a teacher myself so dont be so quick to judge. jeeze. and yes i know quite a few teachers. and i also know people who work 12 hours or more and weekends for their jobs and bring their work home. teachers arent the only ones honey. fact still remains we will still have the most time off then anyone. 3 months is a long summer but no one said teaching was easy calm down lol

It is both illegal and unethical.The most important thing for you to know is an acronym: FERPA. It stands for Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.If you have proof, not conjecture or deduction, but proof by testimony from multiple sources that a teacher has discussed your scores or performance with other students (or with anybody other than your parents or yourself), speak to your teacher and tell him/her not to do so any more. Remind them that FERPA requires that individually-identifiable information may not be disclosed without the permission of the student, or (in the case of a minor) of the student’s parents/guardians. Use the phrases FERPA and personally-identifiable information. This will let the teacher know you know what you are talking aboutThen, ask your parents if they have given your teachers written and dated permission to talk about your academic record with other students. (I am assuming that you are under 18 and therefore under your parents’ guardianship) If they say no, tell them what you have said, and show or tell them your proof. Then ask them to call the school and let the administration know that a FERPA violation has occurred. Any complaint you make must be done within 180 days of the occurrence of the violation.This will not make up for the damage already done. It is ironic that miss Caroline is teaching the children to develop and use their imaginations in the classroom, but then reprimanding Scout for what miss Caroline believes is Scout using her imagination. This is a contradiction.
