Could I Have A Tibial Stress Fracture

Can I still play soccer with a tibia stress fracture?

I originally had pain on my tibia (shins) and had thought it was shin splints but after a few weeks the pain seemed to come worse and worse .
After reading a few reports online I have come to the conflusion it is indeed a stress fracture.
I cannot go to the doctor and get a bone scan , dor which I do not have any money at the moment.
I have been resting and icing and compressing it for a week but it dosent seem to get better.
I have soccer tryouts coming up in 3days and in which we will be doing extensive runnning and conditioning. I have been working very hard for this and do not wish to miss it.
Will I be able to be on the soccer team and run ?

Anyone ever had a tibial stress fracture?

Where exactly is the possible stress fracture? In the knee joint or in the ankle or is it in the shaft of the Tibia? It really depends where the fracture is. If it is in the knee (called the tibial plateau) those most of the time have to be repaired with a screw, and you cannot walk on it for about 6 weeks, same as in the ankle except without surgery, but need to stay off of it for a few weeks. Good luck

Can i wrap my tibial lower leg stress fractures?

Wrapping your legs will always be helpful in providing support for your legs, it will make sure there is more support so less damage is done. I also recommend getting crutches, if you can, to support your leg if it is that painful.

I urge you though to consider an herbal medicine product called the FASTT patch. The FASTT patch is designed to heal injuries like stress fractures quickly and completely. 6 patches can heal the injury within 17 days, and it will definitely help with the pain.

How much time should I take off work for a fibia (shin) stress fracture?

Wow! Two miscues for the price of one question!Dear OP, the above is the limit of my being considered derisive to you. I shall arrive at an appropriate response to you question after I edifying you as to a few matters.A. There is no such bone as a “fibula”. But given your question’s context, I wager that you're most likely referring to the tibia in one of your lower extremities, less likely the fibula. Eh! So you made a spelling error. Under most circumstances, that's “forgiveable”.B. You wrote, “… 99% sure it's a stress fracture due to symptoms … on the internet.” Sir, with respect, you are in desperate need of a “wake-up call” for at least three reasons:except to determining if you're experiencing something that you should seek medical attention for, one should not, under most circumstances, be diagnosing him or herself;an excellent reason as to why is the faulty logic that you learned somewhere and employed here: that to establish a diagnosis one simply matches up his symptoms with those of others - wrong! Why? Because symptomatology is not uniquely suited to establish medical diagnoses! Sometimes, a Physical Examination and subsequent tests from a laboratory and/or imaging device are necessary. Right?all that glitters is not the internet! Just how and by whom the internet is used to aid in establishing a medical diagnosis is important! So what is the most appropriate step for you to take next?I must assume that you want to get “time off work” in order for your condition to abate, if not heal. Therefore, you are the one ranking this condition as important! By definition, that means you must see your Physician in person! Then your condition can be properly evaluated.Good Luck.

How long does it take for a Tibia stress fracture to heal?

I was diagnosed with a stress fracture in my tibia 6 weeks ago, and the injury put me out the rest of my cross country season. The doctor isn't going to see me for another 4 weeks. Should I be healed by then? Also will he let me run again at that point? Or will I have to go through weeks of physical therapy before i start running? I have been in a boot for these 6 week by the way. The docor also said that it was a significant stress fracture, one that will not heal in just 6 weeks like my friend's did.

If i have Tibial Stress Fracture, will the tibial nerves get affected?

Army MEP's - Stress Fracture.?

With a history of stress fractures, I would not recommend you join the military. Stress fractures are quite common in basic training and they can have a lasting effect on you. If you were to join and get more stress fractures, they would be able to tell that you previous ones when they send you for X-rays or bones scans. So they would treat the new ones you got, but you would probably end up with a permanent profile, and depending on how severe it is, it would make you have to go through a medical board, and going through a medical board before you even finish training or within a year of training for anything that is not crystal clear all the military's fault will get you medically discharged, with absolutely no benefits, except maybe a tiny percentage for your military-caused injuries, like 10% of what you would make in one year. So coming in as a private, that might be like $3000. So what you have to ask yourself is, having gone through the pain of stress fractures already, is it worth going through more damage for a lousy $3k? And once they figure out you had them before the military and purposefully did not disclose that information, you'd be lucky if you even got that.

Don't believe that stress fractures are any less dangerous that a regular fracture. They're not through-and-through, but it IS in fact a break in the bone, but it's a break in the center of the bone somewhere. And once you get one, you are more susceptible to getting them in that same area. Also, shin splints can often and easily turn into stress fractures. They're how many tibial stress fractures start.

As for getting pulled over by the cop, no problem.
