Could I Reapply For A Job In The Somewhat Near Future

How much information do companies keep on rejected job applicants?

OK, I'm going to split this into two types of rejected applicants. The ones who are rejected after an interview, and the ones that don't even make it that far. For the ones who don't make it to the interview-if you applied via an electronic system, your application is most likely going to be stored there for the search. There may even be more information (like having the manager rate the candidates into a, b and c folders or notes on the application from members of a hiring committee) other than your application, but at the base minimum your application will be there for as long as the company decides it will be there (usually a pre-determined period of time in case they have to re-open the job search.) For the ones who made it to the interview stage, if you were the second or third choice, your materials might be close at hand for the next year in case the current candidate doesn't work out or if there are multiple roles you might be a fit for.Of course, if you've done something egregious or really unprofessoinal, I have heard of companies keeping lists of 'do not hire' but you really have to go above and beyond to be on an actual list. What more commonly happens is you would apply again and someone would say "hey wasn't she the gal who showed up 30 minutes late and didn't apologize" and then they throw out your application.

My potential new job is going to drug test? Should I be honest with them?

So I've been looking for a different job than a current one, and the company I'm interviewing with does drug tests.

My test will come back positive for marijuana.

Should I just be straightforward with them if I do get the position? Because I know that if it comes back positive for marijuana I probably won't get it. But I know that I'm WAY more than qualified for this position, so could I just be honest with them?

I want honest answers. I've been thinking of saying, 'I'm gonna be honest, I've smoked marijuana within the last two weeks. I don't want to take the test and have it come back positive because I know I won't get the position, so I feel I should just be honest. I understand if you don't want me on the team because of this, but I really feel I'd be a beneficial asset here and I don't want a stupid mistake I made a couple weeks ago to make you think otherwise. I'm hard-working, good with people, and intelligent, and for my benefit and the company's, I really don't want to be cast aside because of this.'

BTW, I'd be lying about the couple weeks thing, because I do smoke everyday. I know I'd be a great fit at the company though and they wouldn't ever even guess I smoke if they didn't drug test.

I just don't see any other way because if they drug test me and I don't tell them, I won't get it. Do you think they may reconsider though if I'm upfront with them and say something along the lines of what I mentioned above?

Job offer rescinded, any chance of reconsideration?

I accepted a position for a contract to hire job that was supposed to go permanent in about a month. I accepted the formal permanent offer, and about 2 months later, I received a notice stating that the offer was rescinded based on a discrepancy on a single employment date in the application. I was completely forthcoming when the mistake was alerted to my attention and was allowed to write a dispute letter. The dates on my resume were correct, and I was working at another position during the overlap. Unfortunately, they only allowed me to dispute the error and not check other employment records leaving me very little leverage in challenging the decision. They agreed to allow me to stay as an hourly contractor, but I will not be considered for Full Time Employment at this time.

When I found out that 2 other employees on my team had the same thing happen to them , we talked to the tech VP. He told us that due to the company being a subsidiarity, it wasn't in his power to change the rules, however he found out from HR that we could be eligible to reapply in 6 months, but it was a practice (and not a policy), and no guarantees that they would convert me the second time around.

Is there a realistic chance that they will reconsider with this 2nd application thing? Or are they using 'smoke an mirrors' to avoid me becoming a disgruntled employee. I am somewhat worried about my job security since the contractors only have funds for salary that become exhausted right before the new year. It was one of those things that was an honest mistake, yet they are not giving me the benefit of the doubt on the inaccuracy. As for HR departments, is this sort of situation a 'one and done' decision where there is little to no chance for reinstating the offer or letting me apply in the future? It's an unfortunate situation, because I really like the job and the contracting agency likes my work.

Pharmacy school questions I am so confused?

1. Can I enter a non-accredited pre-pharmacy program at lets say a SUNY or CUNY or any other college with that major and then go to an accredited PharmD program like St. John's or LIU to finish my studies and get my license to practice pharmacy?
2. Do pharmacy colleges look at your senior year at all? I messed up Freshmen and somewhat of Sophomore year because of bullying and other such related factors (not my home life). I kind of "fell off the wagon from that and I'm making up for it now and next year.
3. Is it likely that I can get into PharmD program right away (0-6 program) right out of high school with these grades:

Over all GPA: 80% (Soon targeted 85-90%)
Math and Science classes taken: Chemistry, geometry, earth science, trigonometry, algebra 1&2, calculus
Sat Math: 800
Sat English: 700
Sat writing: 750
E.C.: Cheerleading, volleyball, step, tennis, double dutch, dance, bowling (I set a school record), Debate

Thank You
