Could My Lightheadedness Be Vertigo

Do earplugs or headphones cause vertigo?

First, I have worn headphones for years without a problem. My music is typically quiet and either classical or jazz. I'm not damaging my hearing in any way.
About 2 years ago, I started wearing earplugs at night because of partying neighbors. I also sometimes wore them in the study rooms or library at school when it was too noisy to concentrate. It was fine for about a year, but then I noticed I kept getting dizzy whenever I wore them for very long. I didn't wear them for a couple of months, and the dizziness went away.
I had lost my old headphones, but I finally got some new headphones so I could at least listen to music on Pandora while I worked, but I am now getting dizzy even with those. The other night, everything started suddenly feeling like it was just moving slowly to the left, and I got incredibly nauseous and hot. It receded somewhat when I took them out, but I was still somewhat lightheaded for the next 5-10 minutes.

Can earplugs or headphones cause vertigo, or might the timing be coincidental? Why might this have started now when I have used headphones for years? If they are causing it, is there something I can look for in a pair of headphones that would make it less likely to happen?

Can a pinched nerve cause dizziness?

Dizziness usually comes from an abnormal signal from the 8th cranial nerve, which innervates the vestibular apparatus. That apparatus includes the ‘semicircular canals’— tubes with liquid that moves when the head rotates in certain directions. The movement of liquid in those tubes causes small hairs to bend, sending signals to the brain that are interpreted to provide information about motion of the head and body.If an abnormal signal enters the brain from those nerves, the person may feel a sensation of dizziness, i.e. vertigo. Abnormal signals could come from compression of a nerve by tumor, damage to a nerve from trauma, infection of the nerve or infection of tissue that the nerve passes through, damage to the vestibular apparatus— or things that confuse the vestibular apparatus. For example, cold water injected deep into the ear canal will cause the liquid in the canals to move, giving a sense of vertigo (that can be very severe and uncomfortable). That test is one way to measure brainstem function in cases where brain death is suspected; if the brainstem is working, the eyes will move back and forth during the test, called ‘nystagmus’, as the brain tries to get the eyes to focus on a rotating visual field. Most people referring to ‘pinched nerves’ are thinking of peripheral nerves coming from the spine, or in an extremity. Pinching those nerves can cause pain so-severe that the person feels light-headed, or nauseated. But that would be different from the vertigo caused by cranial nerve problems. Finally, some people think of ‘dizziness’ not as vertigo, but rather as the feeling one gets before losing consciousness. Make certain when you say ‘dizziness’ that the doctor is on the same page.

Can a bra that's too tight cause dizziness or lightheadedness?

My bra is too small when I put it on the loosest setting (The cup is too small) and on the tightest setting I feel like it's pressing my chest which makes breathing strained. I think it is the bra because I'm fine without it. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Can an erupting wisdom tooth cause dizziness fatigue and lack of appetite?

“Fatigue on Rest”, headache, vertigo and the feeling of loss of balance, blurred vision, nausea, tension and irritability, were found to be prevalent amongst patients who had locally asymptomatic, unerupted impacted teeth. A comparative pressure sign was developed, which, when positive, confirmed the relationship between the impacted teeth and the medical symptoms. Removal of the impactions resulted in the alleviation of the symptoms. Stress and psychogenic factors are considered as trigger mechanisms, rather than as basic causes of the symptoms.Reference; http://www.sciencedirect.com/sci...Regards;Eleena Ahmad

Sudden dizziness and feeling of almost fainting?

Today at school, I was listening to music in my school's library during my English class when I had my head on my hand, staring at the computer screen when all of a sudden, I got a head rush and dizzy feeling. For a second, I thought I would pass out and slam my face on the table. I didn't though. The feelings went away after 3 seconds, but my anxiety quickly came rushing at me. It made me weak and numb all over. I was scared cuz I had no idea what happened. I think I suffer from anxiety (I get a new fear that I can't control and it makes me worry for weeks, sometimes months, considering what I fear.) The dizzy feelings have happened to me probably two or three times already this year. This never happened to me before I turned 13. Later, I noticed that a few kids, even one of my teachers, felt dizzy and that they were gonna pass out. I don't know why but, it was a strange coincidence to me cuz of that. What is this?

Suddenly I feel dizziness when I close my eyes and lower my head. Is this normal?

There's not enough information here to know what's going on. Are you saying this is a sudden change and never happened before? It's normal to sometimes feel dizzy and for your vision to darken when standing up suddenly or after being bent over and straightening up, as a matter of blood pressure, but other forms of dizziness could be indicators of something else going on, from inner ear problems to other things. If this is new, it may be temporary, but if things don't improve in a couple of days see a doctor.

Why is it that I often feel dizziness when I am hungry?

Are you a Type II diabetic and taking metformin or insulin?  For non-diabetic, if you are feeling dizziness, you should check your fasting blood sugar and see if it falls below safe level.  Up to 65 or 60 is fine for some people and many others will crash at 60.  My lowest has been 73 but was very active.  Some times while cycling for long hours on empty stomach, I felt light headedness, but never my sugar level while cycling but checked after cycling and it was around 77.

Could needing glasses cause dizziness???

I've had glasses all of my life.
Ever since I was about 8 years old
But I have to get my prescription renewed every year.
and every year when i go to get my prescription renewed they give me a questionaire type of thing.
And they list a bunch of things that you can check off like headaches and lightheadedness.
And dizziness is definitely on the list.
So I'm guessing it could have to do with your eyesight.
You might want to go get your eyes checked.
