Could Our Screens Be Monitoring And Watching Us

Can my school monitor everything I do on my laptop?

I work for the IT department of a school district. The simple answer is YES!Everything you do on the laptop is stored. Even if you use incognito. In addition, if you are using the school’s WiFi, everything you do (regardless of whether it is your device or the district’s) could be monitored. You are using the school’s routers, servers, and firewall. Those things have the capability of monitoring the packet traffic of every single attached device. If the laptop was given to you by the district, it will likely also monitor (and filter) what you do on the Internet even when connected to your home WiFi.So the only way you would NOT be monitored would be from your personally owned device connected to your home WiFi. But even then, if your parents take your device and take it to the IT department (and they agree), they can find what you have been doing.Bottom line: You are underage. You do NOT have the right to complete privacy that an adult has. Anything, and everything, you do can be checked, monitored, reviewed… If you are doing something you know you probably shouldn’t be doing, then maybe you should reconsider whether or not you really want to do it, instead of worrying about whether or not you will be caught. And then, even as adults, we are only given a little bit more right to privacy. If I do illegal things on my computer over the Internet, my ISP works with the government to provide data which would help convict me. My emails, phone records, GPS device, they can all be subpoenaed to obtain data that proves I committed a crime. We live in a digital age, and one of the BIGGEST mistakes people make is believing that because they own a device (like a cell phone) they have the right to privacy with everything they do with that device they own. That is NOT the way the law works. So, again. Instead of trying to cover your tracks, try making a better choice.

Is there an FBI agent watching us through our phones?

Absolutely. There is an FBI agent assigned to watch through the camera of each of the 400 million cell phones in use in the US. These agents enter FBI headquarters through a special agent shrinking doorway so they can all fit in Quantico.

Is it really true that FBI agents are watching us from our computer cameras?

No, of course not, unless of course they have a surveillance warrant. Have you done anything suspicious that might justify a surveillance warrant on you? There is a sad level of paranoia in this question, which of course tempts me to write a completely different answer. Having once written a great answer to a similar question, Quora Moderation collapsed it as a joke. So now I am answering this question sincerely. What would have been my original answer follows:Oh, yes indeed. And they’ve tapped all of our cell phones. Every call you make is being recorded, and run through a computer for analysis. The computer then transcribes each call and a highly trained counter-intelligence agent reviews each call made in the United States, especially the call of known Trump supporters, for evidence of Russian collusion. However, this is most intensified in the Red states above all. Not only are they watching you through the computer and recording your cell phone conversations for review, they also count your calories. Don’t ask how they do that, because it is classified. They are particularly interested in how much broccoli and other green, leafy vegetables you consume, which they report to Obamacare death panels to determine if the government-controlled insurance that has surreptitiously taken over your employer-sponsor champagne plan should raise your rates again. So definitely, turn that computer off. The television too. And try to avoid the cell phone as much as possible.Try reading a book. I’ve heard there is no technology there that can be exploited.A printed book, that is. They can always get to you through your Kindle.

Can I find out if someone is spying on my computer screen?

Please, read my answer thoroughly. First of all: If you believe you are being stalked, threatened, or spied on with nefarious intent, please contact the authorities. If you’re in the US, you should involve both your local police and the FBI.If not, the first thing you should do is to disconnect the computer in question from the internet. This will stop any software that could be recording your screen or sending your keystrokes over the internet.Do a walk through of your home and replace all door locks, make sure all windows and pet doors are secure. The attacker could be using a physical device to accomplish the same purpose. Look all over your computer, and if you see a device connected to it that you don’t know what the purpose of it is, disconnect it.Make a Live Linux USB offsite, and boot it up on the computer in question, and format your Windows boot drive. If you are afraid that there is some software on your computer that is spying on you, you can’t afford to back anything up. This software could be embedded on the drive, and if you back up your data, it could move to the new install without your knowledge. I’m sorry, but that’s the harsh reality of it. After this, get a Windows install disk and install a fresh copy of Windows on your computer.Again, if you believe that you are at all in danger because of these events, please contact whatever law enforcement is necessary. This is a very serious form of cyber crime.

To what extent can my school monitor my chromebook?

Well from personal experience at my highschool, Yes there are certain ways they can monitor what you do on your chromebook. But since its a chromebook you may have more freedom as to what site you can access. Simple things like internet games are questionable but not serious. Here are a few ways they can monitor you and what you should avoid.

- Porn site, the schools proxy writes a list of what I.P. address has viewed, meaning they can easily see what sites you're looking at.

-Typing the word Porn, They could install a program which logs what keywords you type. Mainly vulgar and profane words such as "***, titties, pussy, *****". These logs are temporary because of the space and resources they use to monitor this. Just be careful of what you email your friend.

-Purposely trying to uninstall a school-installed program. I personally tried this, it was "forticlient" i was trying to get rid of. They didn't like it and I got suspension...

- Transferring data via USB/Flash drive. Many of my friends were caught doing this. They can easily check into data on your computer, folders, files, etc. Even transferring it from a flashdrive can get you into trouble depending whats on it.

-Downloading a bunch of ****. Don't even think of downloading illegal content as it will get you federal offenses. Downloading a lot of un-school related stuff is the easiest way to get you noticed. Be careful doing that.

All this is possible, and judging that you got chromebooks means they got more money to spare on monitoring technology meaning they can do **** I never heard of.
The "Tech-Lab" can easily 'tap-in' to what youre doing, pull up what you see on your screen, to theirs. They can take control of the cursor at any minute rendering your actions useless unless you turn the chromebook off. But don't worry, they cant look at you from the built in cam. Only what you do on your monitor, they can see.

Reminder, this is how it is at my school, they mainly crackdown on porn but playing a few games wasnt that bad. They simply block the site such as Facebook, Twitter, any fun stuff. Just wait and see how things go down their and see how much freedom you have. GOOD LUCK :)

STAY AWAY FROM PORN... and you should be fine.

How do I block the teacher from looking at my screen.?

You should look into multi tasking desktop exploits... I don't know if it works for Insight but it did on the earlier versions of sycroneyes. What they do is take a screen shot of the desktop and display it through the network as your primary monitor(or "monitor 1" would... then what ever you're doing stays safely out of Insight on "monitor 2." Kinda like a decoy...

Good Luck ^_^
