Could Someone Help Me Decide

Can someone help me decide which path to take?

First of all I'm 27 years old with 2 Associate degrees: 1 in Human Service & the other in Medical Assisting. I am headed to University to pursue my Bachelors. Orginally my plan was to become a Social Worker & run my Photography business on the side. Problem is, the school I've been accepted to does not offer any digital photography courses. I obviously can't work as a Social Worker until I get the degree, but I could work as a Photographer right now except that I do not have the technical & marketing skills necessary to run a sucessful business. As it looks now, I won't be able to pursue my photography for another 3 years.
Today, just for research purposes, I decided to meet with an academic advisor at an upper-class Photography school. After they reviewed my portfolio they said my photos are above-average for someone with no professional training; They even wrote me a positive recommendation for admission to the Photojournalism program!
Now I'm really torn!!! I like Social Work for personal reasons & it seems less competitive than the photography business. Thing is I'd also like to become a foster parent in the future & having a home-based business would be ideal. Either way I want to own & run my own business. period. Maybe do photography first & the do Social Work later if I still want to, but I'm not getting any younger & I would like to be done with school & setting down. Is getting a degree in Photography worth it to own my own business? How much is too much to spend on education & training in Photojournalism? What about Marketing skills?
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!!!!!! I have until July 1st to make the decision to affirm enrollment for Fall 2011. I've already been accepted to one college so what should I do??? I currently live in Central/Western, New York.
Social Work or Photography????????? One is my ultimate dream, but the other seems more realistic. I am passionate about both. I can't afford to change my mind once I get into University. This is my crossroad...............

Can someone help me decide between Intel, Folsom, CA and SanDisk, Milpitas, CA?

I work in Intel, Folsom.Initially I was not very happy to be living in Folsom. But if my alternative is something in Bay Area (I’m referring to San Jose/Milpitas) I would expect the salary to be at least 1.5 times more than what I get in Folsom to compensate for all other things. If you are getting similar base salary, then you can blindly choose Intel, Folsom - Since the major difference is the cost of living.Let me try to break it down and explain more.Pros about Folsom:Small developing city. You can find most of your needs for shopping in less than 5–10 miles radius from any corner of the city. Peaceful and safe town to live in.Though the apartment rents are rising steeply, it is half the price when compared to Bay Area. You can find a decent 2BHK for around 1500$.The same might cost 2500$ to 3000$ in Bay Area. This is one of the big factor people consider when choosing Folsom over SanJoseLess/No traffic. Average daily commute time to work will be more or less than 15 minutes (considering you are picking a place totally opposite to Intel)One thing that I don’t like about SanJose/Milpitas. If you want to find an affordable place to live, then your avg work commute time will be at least 40 minutes.Relatively cheaper cost of living, compared to San Jose/Milpitas. Many of my friends are living in neighboring towns to beat Folsom’s cost of living and save more.Cons about Folsom:Less happening place (But it is changing faster). If you prefer frequent partying and hanging out, you will run out of places very soon. But neighboring towns like Roseville, Rancho, Eldorado Hills, Sacramento has some good places too. Again within 30–40 minutes of drive.Hotter place than SanJose/Milpitas in Summer. But not near to unmanageable.Public transport is not that great in Folsom. It will be a pain to be in Folsom without a car.In Bay area, you can try and find a place where you have good public transport options. But in Folsom it is very very less.Less Job opportunities. In Folsom, Intel is the only major job provider among tech companies (small divisions of micron and HP (Roseville) are also there).I think you might be able to decide between Intel and Sandisk based on your own preference. I leave this to your choice.

Can someone help me decide on my college major?

Let me some assumptions that I am making:Your primary interests are Artificial General Intelligence, AI (with possibility of entrepreneurial applications) , Algorithmic Trading (as mentioned in question description by you)You care about fit in the long run, ideally 10–20 years from nowHere are some facts for our mutual convenience:All of your domain interests are math heavy. Specially algebra, statistics, and calculus as a supporting branch. Most people working in your domain come from theoretical or applied math, physics (again, math heavy physics - not just theoretical).I think you must have guessed which are the recommended majors for you:MathComputer Science (Introduction to Algorithms is a bible in Computer Science)PhysicsReasoningEconomics is marginally useful in this, may be you can minor in it. I do not know enough about Philosophy. Peter Thiel is one name which comes to mind when I think of philosophy majors in your domains of interest. Marketing is definitely a big no.That leaves us with Math, Computer Science and Physics. Why this particular order?I think as the lingua franca of all sciences, Math is definitely the top choice. You can acquire programming chops on the way on your own.I have placed Computer Science before Physics primarily because most people working in AI, AGI etc. work in Computer Science in some way or the other today. For instance, Yann Le Cun, Andrew Ng, Bengio et al. - are all computer scientists. They are not physicists or statisticians (not to belittle contributions by Hatie et al.)

Can someone help me decide what is a good topic sentence for this paragraph?

Mount Everest, the towering mountain located between the two countries of Tibet and Nepal, is Earth’s highest point above sea level. In 1924, British explorers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine cheerily set off to climb Everest’s heights, disappeared from view, and were never seen again. Mallory’s body was discovered in 1999, but there was no indication of whether or not he had made it to the top. Since that time, it’s estimated that around 2,000 climbs have been attempted with 180 people dying as a result. The worse year for deaths was 1996, when twelve people lost their lives while trying to summit. The next year was not much better. Eight people died trying to reach Everest’s icy peak. Most recently, in May of 2006, a New Zealander named David Sharp made it to the top in his third summit attempt, but he died of cold and oxygen deprivation around 1,000 feet into his descent.
