Woman Warriors (Vikings) & Settlements?
Regardless of legend or not, I want to know the woman's name. I believe that it is not merely a myth. A read a historical fiction a few years back about a young girl captive (most likely fictional) who got taken on a journey by this woman warrior to establish a settlement. The back of the book detailed the author's research on the woman viking.

the women in the Samurai Class played an important role. While the men were off to battle the women were in charge of protecting the homes and looking after the family. The women were also trained in martial arts and skilled in the use of the naginata, a type of lance. Sometimes the women would fight alongside the men in battle. They were the Amazons. Were there ever a band of female warriors?
Although there have been tribes of people in which the women would participate in warfare, there has never been a tribe of people with only warrior women. It is a fable. The main reason women have traditionally been excluded from warfare is because of their ability to birth children. It only takes one man to repopulate a tribe, but it takes numerous women. Men are more expendable than woman when it comes to the continuation of the species.
Why is it only men who start wars?
