Don't fall for one of those sites offering to sell subs. They don't always work but they will take money. Also, if youtube finds out, they can terminate you account. If you want to build a base you just have to get you videos seen either through social media, online message boards or just plain telling people. Leaving messages on youtubers channels with positive comments while subscribing to them usually gets them to sub back. I know I usually do. How do I view who is subscribed to me on Youtube?
You go to the Youtube creator studio, which should be somewhere in the upper right-hand corner of your screen on Youtube. It’s under your little username icon. Click that, then it will take you to your dashboard. On the left, click the community category. Then click subscribers.

You should aim to make content that you think is good and find the people who will like that content and get them to subscribe.
