Counting Daily Activities Into Your Weight Loss Journal

How many calories should i eat daily to lose weight?

First I want to say not to over do it at the gym. I would recommend 5-6 days a week and alternate strength training and aerobic training on different days. Add in walking and extra low level activity for extra burn each day. But don't do too much over strenuous activity (no more than an hour at a time)

First you need to Figure out your BMR, how many calories you burn in a day if you stay in bed and don't move you can find that out here http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/. From the information that you have left I am estimating that it is 1454.45 calories.

Then you need to multiply that number by an activity number, now from the information that you left I am assuming you are at 1.45 http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/>

1454.45 X 1.45 = 2108 *Note this is an estimate*

So if you do burn 2100 calories a day then you need to eat less than that to lose weight.

Regardless, 1 pound = 3500 calories, so if you eat 500 calories less than you need everyday for a week you will lose roughly 1 pound.

The less you eat the more you lose, however the less you eat, the more you need to take breaks.

You need to pay attention to what you are eating, count your calories, make sure you get at least 2.5 liters of water.

How do I count calories to lose weight?

I use Calorie Counter and Diet Tracker for Weight Loss to calculate how many calories I use in a day and how many I eat. It will give you a rough estimate based on your weight and what you did that day. You can enter everything from driving to bodybuilding. It’s not 100% perfect. It’s probably 75% accurate. Unfortunately, a computer program that’s based on a few numbers will never be very accurate. It says I use about 3000 cal/day, when in reality I’m probably using about 2500. You can also enter what you ate. If it’s not food that came from a package, you won’t be able to enter the calories that you consumed exactly. That’s the nature of calorie counting, though. As long as you’re close it doesn’t matter. Make your best guess and keep in mind that most people underestimate how much they eat, so try to overestimate slightly. These apps will also track your macros, which is something else to look into. Google search “macros for weight loss.”Other similar apps: Succeed at weight loss with Lose It! and Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal | MyFitnessPal.com.Here’s a discussion on which one is best: My Fitness Pal vs Lose It vs Fat Secret etc? Pros and Cons? • /r/loseitTo be honest, what matter is that you count calories and make your best guess. As long as you’re close, you’ll lose weight. I aim for eating 1500 calories/day when I’m cutting, with the assumption that I’m using 2500/day. I usually lose 1–1.5 lbs/week, so I’m getting close. I would probably lose my goal of 1.8 lb/week if I didn’t cheat once or twice a week, but that’s dieting for you :)

Why is weight/fat loss so confusing?!?

Okay! So..

I put your height, weight, age and activity level into a calculator .. To maintain the weight that you're at, with the exercise you're doing, you will need to consume around 1915 calories per day.

This is where the math comes in. A pound of fat (doesn't matter on what person - unless you have thyroid problems) is 3500 calories.

If you take 500 calories from your diet each day, for seven days, that will equal 3500 calories, or one pound of fat, lost. :)

So, you would need to eat roughly ..... 1400 calories per day!

Simplest terms possible, really. Fruits, vegetables, whole/multi-grain foods, some chicken, nuts, and fish. Strictly limit (but don't starve yourself of) pastas, breads, sweets, salted, etc. "They" say you can eat one or two of these foods once a week (pick a day, like Saturday to have them) and still lose weight. You will do better in the long run with short goals. It seems easier to work your butt off for 6 days and be able to have a treat for 1... than think you can't ever have that food again, break down, and go to the supermarket and buy out the whole junk food aisle. :)

I struggled with weight loss as a kid in grade school. I was a size 16, now my jeans are a size 6, and did it the way I explained above, with 4-6 days in the gym for a couple of hours. Nothing worth it is ever easy, but the feeling you get is absolutely wonderful.

Remember, 70% in the kitchen, 30% in the gym.

Best wishes to you.

Will starving yourself lose weight faster than a diet?

i'm going to answer your question and not say 'don't do it'
my ex boyfriend and i broke up and it hurt me so bad i was stressed and depressed (it was a bad break up) i didn't even notice i wasn't eating. i didn't eat for 2 weeks i wasn't meant to starve myself or anything i simple didn't even notice because i was so hurt.. i was 54kilo's i went to 45kilo's. i'm 5,0 so i lost 9 kilo's in 2 weeks. It was hard to eat again because for about a week after not eating. it made me feel sick the smell of it. after 2 weeks i knew i needed to eat again so i just put it in my mouth. I didn't put back the weight on after that i ate healthy and only put on 2kilo's it's been 2 years now and i didn't put back all my kilo's on.. if you or someone is going to do it because we all know because that say don't ..you don't listen to them anyway. after a week or 2 (drink water and coffee during it) but you or your friend start eating after that! healthy things and u won't put back on the kilo's!! i'm not okay with this but you wanted an answer so here it is

Why is running every day on a treadmill not helping me to lose weight?

This is a common “myth” taht many women (and some men) still think will get them leaner, and fitter….I unfortunately used to follow this myself. ONLY to find that I kept gaining weight. ..and I am sure that in your mind, running “burns calories’ therefore the scale should be a lower number right? Not necessarily.Let me clear up a few things first.I was at my heaviest in my early 30s when I did 2 hours of cardio daily, ate diet foods, and skipped meals. Now, at 58, I wear a bikini, have maintained my weight for over 20+ years, and NEVER do cardio by itself.I created a digital product that has sold thousands of copies that will help you when you click Final Fat Meltdown >>> 30 Days to Weight Loss to get you to a slimmer, more youthful body….but first you HAVE to change how you think about exercise, and eating. This is how I coach in our gym so that people can transform their bodies. If you are doing 1 hour of cardio. Your body will burn a certain amount of calories, and in the process, burn through muscle tissue which is the only metabolically active tissue. When you are done doing cardio. You are done burning calories. Unlike short bursts of bodyweight or strength training, which can burn calories for 24–48 hours AFTER you are done exercising.Strength training creates muscle tissue. Which weights more than fat, but takes up less space. SO, you might weigh the same, but in the process lose inches, and firm up flab, while looking and feeling better.Eat for energy, NOT for weight loss. Strict diets make you obsess about what you are “not allowed” to have. Counting and cutting too many calories is a pain, AND will leave you hungry, miserable and promote cravings. Eat nutrient dense foods that support a healthy and lean body.Cutting out ANY and ALL simple carbs is key.Eating healthy carbs before and after exercise can help maintain energy levels.Eat approximately 1 gram of animal or plant based protein per lean pound of bodyweight. This will keep you fuller for longer periods of time, and repair, rebuild and restore lean muscle tissue.Sign up for my free SPECIAL REPORT that will kickstart your fatloss plan, while energizing your body and flattening your belly.
