HP omni 120 (all in one) computer screen cracked?
hi..we got this all in one computer on blk friday...so its not too old. i tipped the screen foward and it hit the end something pointy...now the outside is not damaged...but the inside of computer...looking at the screen some of the pic is white...it looks like the screen cracked. a little star shape on top and then lost of pic the whole way down coming from star like crack...is this fixable..computer still runs and can still see the rest of picture..affected area is 2 inches wide and all the way down to bottom..i dont know if it is lcd or led? or crystal? if this is fixable? can my husband fix? what steps? where to get parts? what is the cost difference between we fix or computer store?..we dont hav alot of money after housefire. thank u for your help and details appreciated... :)
Crack in my computer screen?
I'm screwed I don't know how it happened but there is a crack in my laptop it's purple. I can still turn on and use the computer but the crack is huge. Idk If I have warranty. If I don't then how much would it cost to get it fixed? My dad will be so mad. I've been trying to take care of my laptop. I'm so passed that this happened. And is there any possible way the people will be able to fix it without replacing the laptop? And should I back up all my stuff?

you dont “fix” it, you replace it. is this a laptop screen or a desk monitor? if its a desk monitor, you buy a new one and just hook it up. if this is a laptop monitor, the process will be a bit more complicated. youll either need to hire someone to replace it, or look up the user manual for you specific laptop and follow the directions for opening up and replacing the screen. i wouldnt recommend doing it yourself unless you are used to doing those types of things.

u cant fix that babe, my buddy had one, and eventually his screen went blank. u can buy a new screen, either online or at a computer tech store. but u are better off just buying a new computer.(christmas maybe?) one with a webcam/microphone would be fantastico.....

Your warranty will *NOT* cover the damage. You can call the tech support line for the manufacturer to confirm this, but a manufacturer's warranty covers manufacturing defects, not user created damage. Now, if you have some kind of Accidental Damage and Handling coverage, that is different. However it would never be something automatically included with purchase. The person who bought the laptop would have had to purchase this Accidental Damage and Handling coverage separately, and usually for a hefty fee. Only then, would there be some kind of insurance on the laptop that would cover you breaking the screen. So, to repeat... you stepping on the laptop and breaking the screen is not covered under any standard included warranty with any laptop or notebook. And... there is no way to fool the manufacturer into thinking that it could be a defect. Defective screens don't break like that. If you had included the make and model of your laptop, I would have provided a link to your warranty information to back up what I am saying... but again... just go to the support web site for your laptop's manufacturer, get the tech support telephone number and call them. Tell them what happened, and they will confirm that your warranty does not cover it.
What are the dangers of my cracked computer screen?
So like I have a laptop and I dropped it face flat on a wooden floor while it was open. So now the screen is cracked but when I run my hand across the screen, it still feels smooth. Well now there are like black (blue on the edges where it starts to fade away) ink-like stains near the beginning of the cracks. Its not along ALL of the cracks. The more I use my computer, the more the ink-like stains spread. All of the other functions work, just the screen is cracked. Can I still use my computer? I know its not good but IS IT BAD? It's hard times right now so I don't want to bother my parents about a new laptop. The stains aren't worth getting a new computer so I'd like to continue using my cracked-screen laptop but I'm scared it's bad for me or something. Can I continue to use my laptop like normal?
