Why does Craig Ferguson wave e-mails at the camera?
I have been watching him lately and notice when he is reading and answering e-mails and tweets that he waves them at the camera or in the air somewhere...why????
Do you resent the use of the word "bastard" when referring to "a mean or disagreeable person"?
As a person born out-of-wedlock, I don't resent being called a "bastard" because that's what I am. However, I do resent people who use the term to describe people who are dirty, lousey, manipulative, rotten, etc., which has nothing to do with the innocent child/adult born illegitimately at no fault of his/her own. For example on TV, House, MD (Fox) was referred to as a "manipulative bastard," Jimmy Kimmel (ABC) live used the term "dirty bastard," and Craig Ferguson (CBS) used the term three times tonight to draw laughter from the crowd. It's not funny making fun of innocent people. We've been made fun of for centuries and I, for one, think it's time we stand up and say "We resent you making fun of us!" I think we "bastards" should contact anyone (especially these celebrities) and tell them to knock it off, or we'll turn them off. I think we should eliminate the derogatory definition from the dictionary and encyclopedias. It doesn't belong; the "n-word" has finally been deleted.

Here are a few who have stood the test of time for me in the “not funny” category.Gilbert GottfriedIt doesn't help that his voice makes me want to rip my ears off, but his jokes have never been that funny.And that voice is just an act. Yep, I've seen videos of him talking in a normal voice.To be fair, he is a successful voice actor. You've probably heard his voice in Aladdin or other cartoons and commercials without knowing it is him talking.Perhaps he should stick to that.Dane CookWhatever happened to Dane Cook?Around 2007, a co-worker wanted me to listen to his special. She went on and on about how funny he was.I tried it. He wasn't funny.All of his jokes I had heard before in some form from other comedians. His delivery just screamed “please laugh … pleeeeease?”Comedians have to be fresh and original. He wasn't either of those.Andrew Dice ClayOk, he was funny when I was in middle school. Looking back at his 80’s specials now, I can't believe adults were laughing at that.Much of his act was just his audiences finishing his sentences for him. And smoking a lot. He didn't even smoke.His delivery always sounded to me like he was just reading lines, not telling a story. His act never flowed.He did go into acting and did pretty well with it. I'm not surprised, since his standup routine was just him acting.
Out of the two US presidential candidates which one do you think is worse, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?
Strange as it may sound, the question evokes in me a conflict between my gut and my heart. My gut reaction is the country is going into a period of anarchy where the better angels of our nature are betrayed and lost from sight. In that country, I suppose someone like Donald Trump is the better president, although I’m at a loss to say why.I don’t see Trump holding the country together, unifying or building. He seems intent on doing the exact opposite. I do see his movement as a reaction to the excesses of political correctness but for all the rhetoric, that seems trivial.Hillary I see as the president if I feel the country will last another hundred years. That there will be a United States to lead the world further in the directions of the Founders and the Age of Reason. That may sound opposite or obtuse to some who’ve internalized the rhetoric of Originalists, but I feel and think it’s accurate.The conflict between these two impressions sorrows me overall.

That's not necessarily true, at least universally. That method has its merits, especially if the person is willing to do anything just to get in. However, networking is only one of the many prongs of obtaining work in the Industry.In addition to meeting people in person, one should always have an updated, legible and clearly defined resume (as well as a business card, even if he or she has no direct experience) and should attempt to contact production companies on a daily basis either by phone or email. I have powerful templates for both situations you can use if you'd like. Message me and I'll send them to you.Also, depending on the level and type of job within the television industry you're looking to obtain, you'll have to join a union. Jumping through those hoops can be a nightmare because sometimes the only way you can join a union is if you have experience within the department you're applying to in the same context as the work you're attempting to get. Check out your local union rules to see what the criteria are.Again, it depends on the kind of work you're looking for. There are many types of television -- there's live TV, taped shows (Jeopardy, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, etc.) which will require you to join a union. HR won't consider you without a union affiliation.Then there are independent production companies that produce programming for a number of networks. They don't require you to be in a union and there are huge lists of these companies online.
