Cried In My Sleep Due To A Dream Or Nightmare

Have you ever woken up crying from a nightmare?

Whats it about? I remember when I was little (7-10) I was sleeping in the living room. And I had a nightmare my whole family was driving at night while it was raining. We were in a small town, and were taking a turn when a car hit us and our car started rolling. It was like I was actually there in the car, because it was a big blur, and my heart was racing like crazy. Then I blacked out...and when I woke up my mind and eye sight were fuzzy, and when it cleared out, I could tell the car was side-ways. And I looked around and realized I was the only one moving in the car. I woke up crying, and like in the dream, my heart was racing. It took forever for me to calm down.

My little brother has really bad nightmares, how do i help him?

Don't push him to speak about his dreams.

I assume from your last post that your brother is also not living at home anymore?

Get a child psychologist for your brother and yourself....the person taking care of you right now can find one for you for free.

A 3 year old can't express a lot of detail about dreams. Just be caring and gentle to your brother, and try to find an adult who can help get professional help for you guys.

Good luck.

I keep having nightmares...?

For around a month now, I haven't had a single good dream. They're always frightening, and I usually wake up crying or sweating, with the bed sheets all over the place. I'm scared of going to sleep, because the nightmares feel so real.
Just this night, I had another one. I was in a maze, following this little girl, but she was so fast that I sometimes lost her. I felt lost and lonely, and there was a sense of panic to follow her. I had a kleenex with me, and I was ripping pieces off and dropping them on the floor, so that I wouldn't walk in the same spot twice. I remember that in my dream, my dad was a drug-addict, and to save him, I had to get to the middle. The last thing that happened was I heard the girl laughing, and then I woke up.
What does all this mean? And is there a way I can stop having nightmares and get a good night's sleep?

Why do I sometimes start crying while having a dream in my sleep?

this is not a problems at all, but some time you identify your dreams and your present life, then you will be wake up, mostly the dream is the unsolved process of your day work completion, in this case your identity is very low therefore this things happens, mostly your not mature enough to grow up the your psychological age, its still stuck in the childhood. just go and consult the any psychologist and clear the things, other wise come and meet me i will give the solutions.thanking youbyk.jagadeeshPsychologist and International Author

I Dreamt My Mother Died And Woke Up Crying?

I really don't think it means anything for you to worry about. The things in our dreams are generally things we've been aware of throughout the day before you went to sleep (things you saw, thought about, heard about) and they can all come together to form a strange but too-realistic-for-comfort dream. You can think about things for the briefest moment and they'll appear in a dream and you probably dream about almost everything you've encountered during the day, but you'll only remember the last dream you had before waking up (assuming you sleep for around 7 hours, you will dream about 5 times).

As an example, in my Spanish class one day we had an activity that involved a fly swatter. While I hardly focused my attention on the fly swatter and the activity was less than ten minutes long, I ended up dreaming about a family member that I had thought about that day and the fly swatter. Strange, huh? It doesn't mean I unconsciously wanted to associate that family member with the fly swatter in any way, but that's what came into my consciousness during the day.

So, no, it's not a premonition of anyone dying and I'm just about positive it's not some unconscious desire for your mom to die (although I know Sigmund Freud would disagree, don't listen to him if you want comfort in this situation). Perhaps, and I don't want this to sound weird, the way she died simply has something to do with some idea you encountered the day before, but it ended up being mixed with your mom.

In all, I don't think it means anything. If it was something really sad, then I wouldn't be too surprised that you would wake up crying. I assume you're not depressed, so.. I suppose you just had a case of bad luck in the dreaming department.

My sister keeps having nightmares and wakes up crying?

My sister is 13 and well she's been having dreams of her always being in a situation where someone is trying to hurt her. There's usually always a girl or lady trying to hurt her. I forgot what the other ones were about (sorry). Today she woke up crying from a dream saying there was a lady (in her dream) that was in our room yelling at her in her ear and she sounded exactly like our mom, she also kept shaking the bed. She's told our parents before but they don't believe her and they jut brush it off. I did the same but I think I'm starting to believe her. She said she's scared of going to bed and doesn't want to sleep anymore. Can somebody help? I want her to stop having them and get some rest :( Thankyou in advance

I have nightmares and wake up sweating, shaking and crying almost every night?

Yes there is. Think of the most negative and saddening thing ever right before you sleep. This is what Psychologists call "plow trucks". In regular english terms, this means the emptying of uncomfortable thoughts. Now the idea may seem like it would make the situation much worse. But in fact, the situation gets a whole better because then you either have no dream or just a normal dream of the future (but its positive). If you don't put your mind to it, then the chances are slim that you will ever prevent it from happening. I suggest, before you sleep, talk about everything you dreamt about. As much details as possible to "PLOW" out the negative energy in your brain. Like I said take this advice and DO NOT take medicine for sleep. It will make it worse and worse because you sleep more and the dream gets a much more extreme leading you to have a worse nightmare. It's just a mess. DO NOT take medicine or drugs to relieve it. Stay healthy and try to maintain a positive attitude throughout the day.

Is it possible to cry in a sad dream and wake up to find real tears? How and why?

Definitely! I've lost count of the number of times this had happened to me. Sometimes I even wake up fleetingly remembering the feeling of why was I crying. Like for example, I was betrayed... someone died or I see something that greatly saddened me.Even if I was already awake, I always continue to exhaust my tears (sometimes I even attempt to get back to sleep— particuarly the dream.) and somehow, this makes me feel a whole lot better and lighter in the chest.I personally think that crying while asleep was our body's way of dealing with the excess emotional baggage. Especially those that we are so keen to conciously ignore because it may be too much to handle in our waking life. By creating a fictionalize scenario in our dreams that we can somewhat manage... we could somehow let go of the explicitly unnerving feelings within our emotional capability gauge.

Is it possible to cry while dreaming?

Surely so. In my experience, I have awoken to find myself teary eyed on a couple of occasions. That was of no conscious recollection or anything that made me sad, and often I had no recollection of the dream, but there was some “teariness”.Hope this helps. :)
