What do you think of the Occupy Wall Street movement?
They are typical of the lack of education and failure in our nation to teach civics. The bank bailout was a result of the failed investment in bad real estate loans. The problem was seen by President GW Bush but changes were blocked by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd (check how much the industry gave them). This is an attempt by the loony left...the FLEA PARTY to relive the failed days of the 60's.

The hook/chorus is; "Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, if i ain't gotta ride i'ma catch the bus". I can't find it, even if i search the lyrics and such online, can't find it! And it's driving me crazy haha. If it helps i heard it in a Graffiti Movie/Documentary, and couldn't find it in the credits.
Why don't we all donate significant amounts of money to end global poverty?
The problem with poverty isn’t about not having money, it’s about not having access to needs.Look at it this way: if you were in the middle of Death Valley, CA, stranded with no car and no phone and no water, would a million dollars help you?Poverty is generally conditional on outside factors. They could be political, they could be environmental, they could be industrial, etc. In many countries with a poverty problem you have dictatorships that prevent people from owning or storing food. To get them food you need an army to protect them. In many other countries you have a poor population that is vulnerable to trade abuses, and sending them money might help. In yet others, there isn’t enough food, or water, or medicine, or other needs and no amount of money will fix that problem long term, only technological advancements in food or water production, or the education and industrialization of the populace will help. Money can accomplish these things, but it takes more than just a one time donation directly to the people in poverty to accomplish.Luckily, through the hard work of many, many people in fields ranging from politicians and trade experts to philanthropists to agricultural engineers, poverty has been decreasing throughout the world. Industrialization seems to be the biggest driver in reducing poverty, mostly because it gives access to mass production and logistics of a wide variety of needs. And some of the poorest countries in the world are also some of the fastest growing economies precisely because of industrialization.As these countries gain better access to resources, no one will need to donate any money. They will be in a position to just print their own. Until that point, help by donating some to charities that educate and feed and provide medical service to the world. It does help in the short run.
Am I the only one that thinks California sucks?

Bakersfield is the second capital of country music (Buck Owens and Roy Clark, and the Hee Haw show.) There is a thousand miles of beach, but also a thousand miles of mountains and the lowest desert on the continent, Death Valley. California is not broke - it is the largest producer of agricultural output in the United States. The government is broke because taxes are too low to pay the bills during the slump and the power to raise them is vested in constitutional amendment only. I hated California too, and it took me ten years to put together my escape plan. Do well in school, learn a trade, and move to where they are hiring...
