Curvy But Weight Alot

Im skinny but weigh alot?

At 5'8.. you're weight should be about 140 lbs.
The rule of thumb for women is this.. 100 lbs for the first 5 feet.
Every inch over is 5 lbs more.. so if you're 8 inches over than 8 times 5 is 40.. meaning your ideal weight should be 140.

So your minorly overweight.. not too much .. 12 lbs.. but here's the thing......... if you're skinny... and weigh what you do.. it's possible that you may be more muscle.

Muscle weighs more than fat.. and muscle also will make you look leaner. So if you're 5'8, 152 lbs and skinny.. than you are probably muscular.. which is a good thing.

As for dense bones, that's a myth. Don't pay in credance to it. Bones do vary as far as density from person to person.. but the differences aren't significant to your weight.

I'm not fat but I weigh alot?

so I'm a girl ,about to be 14 this Sunday. and doctors never tell me I'm overweight, but I weigh 170 and that's alot. but I don't look at all that much , yeah I'm curvy/ thick Maybe even chubby but I'm not obese. the bmi said I am obese, maybe because I am short and because my weight was so high, I'm 5"1. I have alot of muscle, in like all places of my body. I do not want to loose weight , maybe some pounds would be nice but I like my body and my thickness, and if I got the weight off I know I would gain it again, I'll put a picture of my body. can anyone give me suggestions on what to do to maybe loose muscle or keep off weight ???

I'm 5'5 and weigh 170 lbs. I'm really curvy but i never thought i was really "fat". What do yuh think?

not fat big

I'm skinny, but weigh alot. Why?

Ok so I am about 5'2 and 1/2, but weigh about 130lbs. I wear a size 2 pants on occassion a 4 and usually a small or medium shirt. I work out alot. Most people guess me about 110 or 115. WHY DO I WEIGH between 125-130? It drives me crazy. I weighed 115 in 9th grade and I am in college now I wear the exact same sizes and they fit the exact same.

Why do I weigh a lot but look skinny?

so I'm 5'4 and I weigh 136 lbs. I know it's still a healthy BMI but my doctor told me to lose weight. what I don't understand is that all my friends/family say I look skinny (they said I look 115). do you think it could be muscle? I work out several times a week and my legs/bottom are quite bulky and my stomach is flat. I am not THAT bulky but I don't understand why my weight is so high! please help I'm in high school and feel very self conscious.

Why do I look thin but weigh a lot? How can I be 160cm and weigh less than 45kg?

I don't understand what you mean, your second sentence is somewhat contradictory regarding the first.Like Stephanie said, muscle weighs more than fat so a person can look thin but weigh more than other people with similar frames but more fat than muscle. On the other hand, you say you weigh 45kgs for a height of 160cm.That does not look like you weigh a lot, quite the contrary, it seems your weight is in fact low for your height. You don't mention if you are a male or a female.I will assume you are a female. It looks to me that you have some issues... you sound like a possible future anorexic.Don't measure yourself by fashion models... please! That is anything but normal or healthy!

Is it possible to weigh a lot but be slim?

Slim is a subjective term and so does “weigh a lot”Your weight/height ratio suggests that you may have weight to lose, but not much. In this day and age 10lbs overweight appears “slim”Really, you must ask yourself, What are my goals here? If you are healthy, are able to exercise regularly and have no issues. Why worry? There are heavy people out there that run ultramarathons. If you are worried about body image, Look up Emily Skye who transformed herself from a slim size zero model, to a healthier, sttonger fitness model/guru.I run marathons when I train I try to drop a lot of weight, makes it easier. But I lose equal parts muscle and fat, and dont look better. But I do it to be more efficient.Stay healthy, and lose weight for the tight reasons and not some arbitrary ideal.
