Customizing My Pc Into Gaming Pc

I want to build a custom gaming PC. Where should I start?

You’re going to get a lot of different answers in this over time. THE FIRST place to start is the case. Depending on your budget of course the case MUST have good airflow and good expandability. Plenty of drive bays, expansion slots, modular in nature, etc. Then, look at power supply. Do research in what your planned hardware will take at both baseline wattage and peak, then multiply that by approximately 1.25 - that’s the wattage you want. Ideal scenario, make sure it also has good airflow properties. Modular or not is rather irrelevant, though these days anything good quality is. Make sure also that it is efficient - 80+ bronze or better, with a good 5v and +12v amperage rating.CPU, Motherboard… well these are pretty self explanatory. The newest hardcore CPU out there aren’t always the best bang for the buck, and some that are 1–2 generations back are almost perfect for the task. A motherboard should also be able to handle said CPU wattage TDP, have at least 4 RAM slots (for dual channel and similar properties - better throughput). CPU cooler should reflect the airflow/efficiency mentioned above. The more it cools, the harder the PC can work. (to some extent).RAM - unless you’re an enthusiast gamer needing the best there is PERIOD… this is a more fluid choice. Most modern games require minimum 8gb, but for best textures blah blah… double it. Or, you could be like me and cram every last GB the motherboard supports. If you buy multiple sticks over time, or as a non-packaged set, make sure they’re matching timings and clock speeds.Storage and optical drives… faster is better. bigger too. durability is a must.the rest, that’s up to you - well it all is. how do you want it to last? how hard do you want to hit the gaming world? is style a factor in how it looks?

Should I build a custom gaming PC or buy a laptop? If I was to build a PC, people would see that I'm cool, but with a laptop it's more portable.

Don’t let your reason for doing anything be what other people think first of all.Pros to a built PC: Can upgrade further, More power for less money (vs laptop), Thrill of the build, ability to pick every single part which is a benefit for getting exactly what you want, and controlling costs. Will likely last longer and you might learn something while working on it.Pros to laptop: Portable. However, a decent gaming laptop is still heavy and thick. I travel for work pretty much and every week and I haul around a current gen Asus with a 1070. It is a big heavy and a lil on the big side, but still worth it. Just know it is not as easy or as carefree as tossing a macbook or surface book in your bag and heading out the door. Really portability is the only pro here. Otherwise for the same cost or cheaper you can build a PC that will blow away your laptop. The laptop will be harder to upgrade and have limited options. The laptop will age quicker. If you need to be mobile with your computer, get a laptop. If you will be able to live with a non-portable computer, go self built desktop, simple as that.

List of Specific Editing/Gaming PC Custom parts for under £700?

I'm looking for a good list of specific PC parts i could use and would be compatible for video editing programs and other media based programs, and high performance gaming.
I know you should customize whatever suits your own needs but id like a good list to reference as i look into PC parts. as long as it would be good for high performance Editing and gaming. And at a rough price of hopefully under £700. I'm not experienced in the technical side to PCs in any regard.

How/where do I sell a new custom gaming PC fast?

Depends. Do you want to sell it in a day and get a little less than normal asking price, or sell it in a week and get around what you’d probably want?Craigslist (or Facebook Marketplace) is very fast if you price your items very competitively. Ebay is good if you have a week to wait. General rule of thumb is that the more competitive your price is the sooner it’ll sell.If I wanted to get rid of something like that fast and I wasn’t too concerned about how much I got as long as it was reasonable, I guess I’d just put it about 20% lower than similar items on craigslist. It’s always worked for me.

Is this a decent gaming pc?

Out of all of what you have written... the only things that actually matter and you have to take into consideration are 1) Memory (which is also called RAM) and you have 8GB of that which is really good, 2)Video Card (also called graphics processing unit), you have 1GB of that which is more than enough to handle almost any game. 3)Hard Drive, 1TB=1000GB which is probably more than what you would ever use or need. 4)Processor, and the one that you have is really good.
But ****, that thing has a 22" moniter? Thats really really big for a laptop screen, so if your planning to take that computer anywhere other than your inside your house. You should be fine
So to summarize, yes, that is one hell of a computer :)

PC gaming VS Console gaming?

PCs DO NOT go to crap in a year, unless you constantly kick and unnecessarily open it to feel around.

There is much more customization and freedom with PCs. You can play games at higher settings than consoles (little known fact, the Medium setting for most PC games is usually the setting for consoles). The keyboard + mouse setup may take a bit of time to get used to if you've always used consoles, but after you nail it down, it's great for FPS games or, heck, any game. If you know what you're doing, you might even be able to build a strong PC for even less than £650, maybe even less than the console. There's Skype, Steam, WinAMP, web browsers (that don't suck), and best of all, mod support for games. Plus, if you're an indie developer, it's very easy to publish and sell your games. The only bad thing is that you MAY be susceptible to viruses, but it's not that hard to prevent and/or remove them.

Compare that to the Xbox One. You will definitely have TV, Skype, and games. You won't have to worry about viruses. However, it will most likely be very strict on how you can customize it. There's no mod support unless you hack the system, restricted indie development, a few apps, and you're limited to a gamepad setup.

Why does PC gaming suck?

"Using a mouse and keyboard to play a video game is ridiculously stupid." not really you have full precision, you just find it un comfortable because you use a controller or any games on pc(if you have even played any) probably didnt have the right settings for u. "Also, it costs thousands of dollars each year for "upgrades" that barely look any different than console" you can builb a top notch gaming pc for 20$, yeah, totally in the thousands. And if u think pc doesnt look any better than console u must be playing morromind on the lowest graphics possible running it though an atari thinking its the latetest tech in pc gaming. "PC gaming is for virgin nerds" ...huh, well i happen to be 13
