Was Billy Idol's "Cyberpunk" album musically underrated?
Billy Idol's 1993 album "Cyberpunk" got terrible reviews almost universally. Musically I think it's awesome. I think the poor reception was for non-musical reasons, confusing the fanbase, too experimental, attached to an ephemeral genre (Wikipedia says critics said "pretentious and meandering ... sounding like a man desperate to keep up with current trends"). Try listening to some tracks at http://www.amazon.com/Cyberpunk-Billy-Id... "Shock to the System" * - rocky, up-tempo, commercial "Love Labours On" *, "Adam in Chains" - lyrical, trance-like "Then the Night Comes" *,"Venus", "Mother Dawn" - technofunk "Wasteland" *, "Concrete Kingdom" - experimental Try to at least listen to the ones I marked * I'm purely asking about the *music* on this album, *not* whether Billy Idol, his sound, synthesizers, the artwork, styling, the cyperpunk literature genre, or the concept of the concept album are, used to be or ever were trendy. Tell me what you think.
Why? Why Does Everyone Hate Miley Cyrus so much?
You've gotta be kidding me...She's a great role model for little kids? What, do you want little kids to be taking half-naked pictures of themselves? To go around in cars without buckling up? To be making out with other people when they're in 2nd grade? If that's what you'd call a good role model, think again. You really think she's a great singer? Did you hear her on the New Year's Eve celebration last year? She wasn't singing, she was screaming. She was so loud, you couldn't even hear the Jonas Brothers singing with her (even Nick, and you can always hear his strong voice). And she's not funny, she's annoying, and when she cracks jokes, they're stupid. She is so not funny. And yeah, I gave her a chance. About a minute or 2. What a waste of time. I could've done something so much more worthwhile than listening to her horrible screeching. Thumbs me down all you want, even report me if you really must, but I don't really care. I'll never like someone who picks on her "friends" in her YouTube videos, or flashes the peace sign only when other people have done it, or copies other people's styles, or doesn't do the things she says other people should do. I mean, how can you forget to buckle up in a car? It's the law, and Miley thinks she's above it. Role model, let alone a good one? I think not...

What do you think about guys wearing eyeliner (or any other makeup)?
You go ahead and wear it! But, as long as you live in your dad's house, play by his rules. Maybe skirt the rules by wearing it outside the house and not in. If you're going to wear it, make sure you wear it right though. Black eyeliner can be a little too dramatic. Go for a grey or smoke color. It's much more subtle and gives you more of a natural "dark eye" look. Go to a department store beauty counter and the girls there will be more than happy to show you how. You can also wear a light coating of mascara to make the lashes stand out. Again, don't over do this either. My boyfriend wears eyeliner and mascara and he's really hot with it on. He's never been accused of being gay and all of my girls thinks he's hot with it on as well. In general - guys are hot with eyeliner if worn correctly!
