Best dark purple hair dye?!?
I've been wanting to dye my hair dark purple for a while now. I went into the salon about 4 weeks ago to get it but it turned to a Red which i didnt want...! So, I need suggestions for a good dark purple hair dye (like a plum or dark purplish black color) that I can get either online or in a store (Shopko, walmart, etc.) So please help! Dark hair with purple undertones?
I have dark brown hair almost black, and have wanted to get purple in my hair for a while now. And by purple I mean undertones not actually pure purple hair. I know there is permanent hair dyes that dye your hair black with purple undertones. I don't want to use permanent hair dye on my hair because I heard that black hair dye doesn't come out of your hair and don't knoe if its the same with black purle hair dye. I was wondering if I could get a semi permanent pure purple hair dye and dye it over my dark hair. I know its not going to show up fully because I have dark hair so I was thinking it would balance out and give me purple undertones to my dark hair? I have no idea if this would work. Or if there is any other way to get purple undertones without using permanent hair dye or bleaching?
Could i dye my hair red, from purple?
So, a few months back i dyed my hair a plummy color, and it's faded into a reddy purple, i wanna do a dark red, but i don't know if it'd sit on my hair? i have light brown hair and i don't want it too fade ginger :\ any advice?:)
Can I mix these two hair dyes to get a dark purple color?
It will not turn out right at all. Also splat contains metallic dye and it will permanently ruin your hair you cannot dye over it once its on. So if it doesn't turn out right there's no fixing it. There is no way to remove metallic color the only way is to start over and shave your head. Terrible idea. cheap hair color brands will not tell you why they are inexpensive and its because they will destroy your hair. The other person that answered this and said its a good idea obviously has to knowledge in the cosmetology field.
If I put red over blue hair dye will my hair turn purple?
Most likely, your hair will turn a vibrant blue. Green has yellow in it, which purple gets rid of. the results will be a strong blue or a dark blue. If you put red, even worse. It will turn a very unattractive greenish mud color or a muddy color. NOT PRETTY. I suggest that if you want purple hair, bleach your hair with 30 volume developer and wait for an hour. after an hour, rinse off. By this point, your hair will probably be a light turquoise green/blue which is light enough to put purple.If you want red though, you'd have to bleach it with the 30 volume, but you'd have to do a soap cap after and if it's still a vibrant green or blue, keep doing a soap cap until the color isn't strong and vibrant. Then put red on it. But your hair would most likely be badly damaged and you'd have to shave your head and start over.
How do you get rid of purple hair dye after the color has faded in your hair?
Ah! I've been there myself! Lol. As these beautiful fashion colors are a direct dye,they are heavily loaded with pigment. If you applied it to bleached hair (which is what creates those beautiful vibrant colors!) time is the best way. You could try a few shampoos with Dawn,as that is alkaline and MAY lift it a bit. Vinegar is actually acidic,and CLOSES the cuticle. These colors are not permanent,and will completely fade with time! I,however,faded from purple,to lavender,then my blonde looked slightly silver,then it was gone! So unless you want to go back to purple,just be patient,my friend!

Most (if not all) purple hair dyes are only semi-permanent, which has no lifting (lightening) power. Light Auburn Hair Dye turns purple after mixed?
i got the Clairol Semi-Permanent Spiced Tea dye and i just mixed it to do a patch test. i did the patch test and not a minute later it turned a dark purple. is this normal? p.s. it didnt just turn purple on my arm, its purple in the container too
