Ddr2 Or Ddr3 Machine Better For After Effects

Is 8GB of DDR4 actually better than 16GB of DDR3?

Yes, this is about RAM. Hang in there.I have 6 gallons of water that I need to transport to the other side of the country ASAP. I have two options:An 8 gallon truck that moves at 60 mph, orA 16 gallon truck that moves at 40 mph.In this case, the 8 gallon truck is the obvious answer. It’s faster, and gets the job done. But what if I had 10 gallons of water and the same two options? I’d obviously need the 16 gallon truck. It’s the same concept with RAM. Generally speaking, running programs need RAM to reside in, and excess RAM makes no difference. All other things being equal, DDR4 is always faster than DDR3.If you’re running no more than 8 GBs worth of programs at any given time, then the 8 GB DDR4 RAM is the obvious choice, because it’s faster. However, if you’re running more than 8 GBs worth at a time, then you’ll want the 16 GB DDR3, because 8 GB just isn’t enough.EDIT: Lots of people have been pointing this out, so I feel I should specify this. The performance difference isn’t that great between DDR3 and DDR4. Many programs have many ways they can take advantage of extra RAM. What I’ve said is still true, but the 16 GB DDR3 will be more beneficial in most cases, and my answer seems to imply the opposite.

What is the difference between DDR3 RAM & DDR4 RAM?

Originally answered: Rishiraj Surti's answer to What is the difference between DDR, DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4 RAM?What is RAM?RAM, or Random Access Memory, is your computer’s short term memory. If your computer needs information and does not find the RAM, it then needs to journey to the hard drive to try and retrieve the data, which is far more time consuming. Many older computers that feel sluggish can be given new life if upgraded with additional RAM.However, capacity is only one specification. RAM is also available in a variety of versions and speeds. A 2GB stick of DDR2 800 RAM is not the same thing as a 2GB stick of DDR3 1333 RAM. Understanding the difference is important because computers will generally accept only certain types of RAM.What is DDR?The term “DDR” stands for Double Data Rate RAM. This term came into use at the turn of the century when the first Double Data Rate RAM modules arrived. Double Data Rate RAM was capable of two data transfers per clock cycle, giving it twice the theoretical peak bandwidth of previous SDRAM while running at the same clock speed.DDR Memory CharacteristicsDDR memory's primary advantage is the ability to fetch data on both the rising and falling edge of a clock cycle, doubling the data rate for a given clock frequency. For example, in a DDR200 device the data transfer frequency is 200 MHz, but the bus speed is 100 MHz.DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3 memories are powered up with 2.5, 1.8 and 1.5V supply voltages respectively, thus producing less heat and providing more efficiency in power management than normal SDRAM chipsets, which use 3.3V.A comparison for the RAM memory chipsets that can be found in today's computers, including SDR, DDR, DDR2 and future DDR3 modules:In layman's terms, as we move on from DDR to DDR5, there is an increase in the clock speed which means increase in transfer rate of data, which implies performance is improved.one cannot upgrade to a higher RAM without upgrading the motherboard. i.e. DDRx is not backwards compatible with DDRy, x>y.While both types of RAM modules have similar numbers of pins, the notches in the PCB are in different locations. In other words, a DDRx module cannot be placed in a DDRy (x>y) memory socket, and vice-versa.Efficiency increases.

Which RAM is better for running Adobe softwares, DDR4, DDR3, DDR3L or DDR2?

Theoretically speaking, newer the RAM better will be its performance. But this again depends on your system configuration - how optimally the system is performing. If your motherboard supports and you have got the money, go for a DDR4 RAM. It will be the best. Otherwise, DDR3 is cheaper and better.DDR3L simply denotes 'DDR3 Low Power', which consumes lesser power than the former. DDR2 is again much slower and outdated.

Which would be better to use for a laptop for gaming and video editing/rendering (after effect), HP 15-P203TX DDR3, 4 GB+4 GB=8 GB RAM or a 4 GB+8 GB=12 GB RAM?

Hello , This Is HarshitI suggest you to pick up the 4gb+4gb ram varient if you are using for the gaming and Video Editing/rendering…It is your budget and sufficient for your work.If you have a good budget then go for the 4gb+8gb varient because this gives you the fast work experience.Hope you understand from my answer.ThanksHarshit Raj

Should I install 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 7 on a 2GB DDR2 RAM system?

Go for 32 bit.Explanation:The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's  processor (also called a CPU),  handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows  handles large  amounts of random access memory (RAM)   more effectively than a 32-bit  system. The benefits of using a 64-bit operating system are most apparent when  you have a large amount of  random access memory (RAM) installed on your  computer, typically 4 GB of RAM or more. In such cases, because a  64-bit operating system can handle large amounts of memory more  efficiently than a 32-bit operating system, a 64-bit system can be more  responsive when running several programs at the same time and switching  between them frequently.

Is 8 GB DDR3 RAM sufficient to run Premiere Pro?

Yes, it is. But its is recommended to have a minimum of 16 gigs of RAM for smooth operation of Remiere pro, as the software like Premiere and after effects are RAM hungry software. More is better. Also a lot depends on the graphic card, the processor speed and the type of hard drive you have in your workstation.Graphics: 2 gb recommended (look for CUDA support functionality, as not all the cards are equipped with same.Processor: minimum of i5 8th gen or higher with higher number of threads.HDD: Solid state drive (SSD) are much faster than rose of traditional SATA drives. Even a 250 GB of SSD will do good and for the storage you can always look for cheaper 5600 rpm SATA drives.

I'm buying a new laptop. What should I get?

Top Zenith: Top 7 things you should know before buying a laptopWell, I think you might also be confused when selecting the best laptop that suits for you in affordable budget. When looking at the specifications, we'll get confused and banging our heads to understand the terminology used in the product description. In the dilemma, we decide to buy any random laptop without having proper knowledge and then regret about it later. To avoid this, it worth to consider below things before buying the laptop:High-End or Low-End userDecide yourself whether you want to use the laptop for heavy tasks such as 3D graphics, Video Editing, Photoshop and multitasking etc,. or you want to use the laptop for light tasks such as watching movies, browsing web etc,.Once you decided whether you're a high-end user or low end user then 50% of your job is done in selecting the best laptop that suits you. Now, you're just left with choosing specifications.ProcessorAMD and Intel are the major processors available in the market but let's see the difference between them:There are different generations in the intel process you might have heard of i3, i5, i7 versions of the processor. i3 is enough for the low-end users and i5,i7 are best for high end users.RAMThe abbreviation of RAM is Random access memory. Let's understand how the RAM works, whenever you open any application like browser, before browser appears on the screen, the files will be loaded in the RAM and when simultaneously you have opened a heavy task like after effects. If there will not be sufficient space in RAM. The browser application will be swapped by after effects. RAM will do the same whenever a new application is opened or launched. Higher the RAM, higher the performance. In normal user, 4GB of RAM is enough for students for learning programming or watching the movies. In the market, there are different types of RAM's such as DDR2, DDR3, DDR4. Among these DDR3 will be best, will be good enough for students etc,.I have listed top 7 things in the below linkTop Zenith: Top 7 things you should know before buying a laptop

I have hp dv6 2020ev i7 - does upgrading the RAM make a difference ?

You would see a difference BUT if you're using 8gb of Ram, you're going to need to upgrade to the 64 bit version of your Operating System. Windows 7 32bit only supports 4gb of memory so if you put 8gb of memory in it, the computer will still only utilize half of it.
