Dealer bent the frame rail when lifting my car, paint is now peeling, what should I do?
I got my new 2014 3 only a couple months ago. Shortly after getting the vehicle, I had to bring it in a couple times to get rims replaced, the car's been on their lift a couple times. This weekend I was waxing the car for the first time, and I bent all the way down to see what's going on below the car, and I noticed that in spots where car lift typically holds the car, the frame rail/edge was slightly crushed/bent in some spots, causing paint to flake. It's still galvanized metal, so I am not seeing any rust (yet), but I guess I am just not sure what to do. I am going to the dealer next week for them to take a look at it. What do you think they will propose? What's the best course of action? I don't know if I want to repaint that entire rail...would touchup do it? Should I straighten the metal or will that only ruin the galvanization more due to all the flexing?
