I had a disturbing dream about killing my mother?
Some backstory: I recently have come to terms with the fact that my mother was somewhat abusive to me as a child emotionally, didn't care about my feelings, used to humiliate me and punish me for acting in ways that she didn't approve of, and really didn't do much to protect me from my physically abusive sister, etc.. I have been very angry about that since I realized it, and have since cut off all communication with her. I haven't communicated with her for about 3 months. I had a dream that my mother was trying to fight me, and then I sent somebody to kill her although I didn't do it myself. She started fighting me, when I told her that I realized that all she cared about was herself. She was upset because I found out her secret. After she was killed, everyone in my family, even those who were also hurt by her, were really mad at me, and I started to feel guilty. What does this dream mean? Why was she fighting me? Why did I have somebody else kill her? What was the guilt about?

I would rather divide my list in two sections, one with positive recommendations and the other with the negative. What does it mean to dream of people who have emotionally hurt you in the past?
I recently had my heart broken by a guy and the healing process is slow. I started dreaming about men. Men who have hurt me emotionally and were both friends or ex-boyfriends alike. They aren't hurting me in the dreams they are just there and I usually feel a little "off" when I wake. I find it disturbing and I want to resolve it. What does all this mean? I don’t know what your dreams are about, but I too have had very realistic dreams since I was a small child. I’ve dreamed all sorts of wonderful things, including spending time with my three children when they were little and waking up to feel as if I’ve spent actual time with them, and feeling very happy. Our brains are active even when we are sleeping, so it’s no surprise that some of us actually remember that activity and respond to it! I feel blessed to have an active dream life! I definitely have had dreams that left me feeling weird, unsure, anxious; however, most are positive, or at least give me information about what my emotions are. If your dreams are really disturbing, you might look at what you are eating and drinking close to bedtime, or even what medications you take. Talk to your physician if you think some modifications have side effects that could be bothering you. I hope this is helpful. I think you are normal, whatever that means! Or at least, not alone!

Why it is that when we dream, the things that used to be emotionally disturbing to us but we have somehow managed to make peace with, feel still scary and disturbing?
Because you have deluded yourself. you are not at peace with these things you’ve just suppressed them. in a dream nothing is suppressed it’s direct access to your subconscious mind which is a place very unfamiliar to you. But these are feelings that you are very aware of, most people experience their feelings in metaphors. I think you have to reconnect.

whatdreadeye, no not so silly actually. I never believed in ghosts until a few years ago, my son was 6 months old if that and my husband and i were sleeping in bed all of the sudden we awoke to a loud crash inside the room. my husband and i both sprung up in bed and saw the dogs figure run to the closet making whining noises (very rare for him) my husband then turned on the light, then, on my side of the bed was my nighstand drawer dumped out and tipped over about 4 feet from the nightstand, the creepiest craziest part about it is the fact that the drawer was one of those that you have to lift then pull to take off the latch.... which means my dog couldnt have done it some how ... i swear on everything this is 100% true, because of this i do believe in paranormal, theres just no explanation otherwise, my husband is the kind of "see it to believe it"/non religious and skeptical types and he too "believes" in ghosts. what you said, about fighting off the bad, its so simple im mad at myse

Poor little cute mice , they were screaming in agony , these chef were frying them and there was nothing I could do , it was heart breaking , I felt the emotions , the chef were happy to serve the fried mice with crisp breading in the outside , it was just awful so I left , I wake up and I am like what the heck what this all about
