Annoying Debt Collection Agency?

just ideas...

1-answer and say your a 16 year old girl that just got this phone, the number they are calling is the one the company gave you, and that you legitimately don't know this guy, if they don't believe you just hang up...if they do there's a small chance that they will delete this number and look for the guy...

2-tell your service carrier if they can block this NCO number from your phone.. if they are not looking for you and you don't know this guy...then they cant do nothing even if they send you a lawsuit it would be under this guy's name and not you...you cant really show up in court with a guys name and your social S N would be different from the one they have...and if they still go after you, you can tell parents to sue them for harrasement or something like that for bothering you with all this for no reason at all....

Can a collections agency help a debtor get a loan to pay their debt?

Not usually. They are attempting to collect a debt but they do not typically help people with finding solutions to debt. What they may be able to do for you is work out a payment arrangement so you don’t have to get a loan. Getting a loan will only put you further in debt because then you will also have to pay interest on the loan.I recommend that you first contact the collection agency and see if they are willing to work out a payment plan with you. If they will not, try giving Debt.com: Do-It-Yourself Guidance plus Professional Debt Help a call, they can put you in touch with someone who may be able to help you with your debt situation which may include credit counseling, debt settlement, or possibly even a debt consolidation loan. Their phone number is 1–844–380–7603. Best of luck to you!

How can a collections agency help a credit manager?

A credit manager constantly faces the trouble of managing outstanding receivables and bad debts. These cause cash flow issues, hinder profitability and reduce investments opportunities. When in house collection attempts fail, one remaining solution is hiring a collection agency to amicably collect the overdue monies from debtors. Recovering money legally requires training, tact, ethics and great effort that only professional and licensed collection agencies can provide. All this helps credit managers to ensure that debtors stay customers, hence keep doing business with you. Collection agencies may also provide first party collection services and account management on your name, credit reports and ancillary services that credit managers will find useful on many occasions.

What happens if I can't pay the debt collection agency?

You owe a debt and they are trying to collect. They dont want monthly payments but most collectors will settle the debt for around half of what you owe. That way you can stop worrying about it. If you ignore them, they will keep pursuing you for some money. My advice since I am in the same boat is to send them a judgment-proof letter. You will find a sample on line. They generally dont pursue court actions if you have no assets or income. But as what happened with me, is they turned it over after a few years to another collector and started the process again. It would be simpler to settle it. For such a small amount they may not bother filing a lawsuit. They might just write it off their books. Is this a joint debt? If so, they will try to garnish her income. They cannot legally garnish your SSI unless this is a government debt like taxes but I think you can still be exempt from garnishment.

Can a collection agency file a judgment twice on the same debt?can i dispute debt after a judgment?

NO, they can only file one time. The only exception being if they won a judgement and you were found to be "judgement proof" (meaning broke and out of work), they would then file a motion to open the judgment if they find you are working and can afford to pay the judgment.

You can dispute the judgment but it takes a lot of work.
Reverse Judgments is a term that means to "overrule" a lower court's decision. When debt collectors win a default judgment, it's possible to have it overturned, overruled, set aside and vacated. These terms simply mean the default judgment is removed and is no longer binding.

In order to have a default judgment overturned, you'll need to prove that the judgment was granted without you being given due process. This generally means you were not able to appear in court for various reasons and therefore, not able to properly defend yourself. Obtain a copy of ALL court documents concerning the default judgment and look them over for any mistakes. Pay close attention to address, notification procedures, dates and names.

If you can prove that you were not properly notified or that some emergency prevented you from appearing in court, request a rehearing also called a motion to vacate judgment

NOTE: Judgements are listed on credit reports for seven years or until the governing statute of limitations has expired, whichever is longer. Some states can renew the judgement every 10 years!! 15USC1681c
