Decimal Rounded To Two Places As Needed

What is 2.098 rounded to two decimal places?

So if we were looking at 2.09 then that would be the end of the story and it's rather tempting to do that with this one.As you know 8 needs to round up the previous number but should that happen then it becomes 2.1 because 9 rounded up is 10, right? But then it wouldn't be 2 decimal places only one.Technically we say the answer is 2.10 because while it is the exact same magnitude/amount as 2.1 it has another decimal place and therefore when looking at it as a number it would be considered more accurate.________ ignore this next bit if you don't wanna know why (according to me, not the official reason). So, I was confused about this at first because , well the amount is the same so why not just forget the zero?Maths has a lot more applications that just theory. Its used a lot in the sciences. Sciences i.e provable theories which means … experiments! The thing with experiments is that when you look at something to 1 decimal place you don't know if that has been rounded. So if your result is exactly 2.1000000000 then by putting the extra decimals it tells someone that this result is very accurate as opposed to rounded. The more decimals it's has the more accurate a number so we like to show that it has 2 decimals.Hope this helped :D

What is 3.4252 rounded to two decimal place?

Basic knowledge in rounding numbers. Numbers that less than 5(0,1,2,3,4) will remain as it is and numbers more than or equal to 5(5,6,7,8,9) will plus 1 to number before it. So, for above example:3.4252 rounded to two decimal places. We will take three numbers(if three decimal places, then take 4 numbers and so on) after the point while not neglecting the number before the point. So, we get 3.425. Let’s see the last number. Since, it is 5, then we need to plus 1 to the number before it which is 2. 2+1=3. So the final answer will be 3.43 .

I'm doing a calculus quiz and I got the right answer...but I only get one shot to get it right (it's online).

The answer is .075, but it says it has to be rounded to 2 decimal places. Would that be 0.08? Or like just .08? Or are they the same?
