How competitive do I look for the Air Force Academy and/or their Summer Seminar?
If you have already been named the Boy's State Delegate for your High School, you definitely have a chance. Boy's State usually takes place in June at the same time as the summer seminars. You left that out the last time you asked this question and have just added it as an after thought to this, when to the Service Academies, Boy's State is huge. Even more than Eagle Scout or Billy Mitchell. It is approaching Spaatz.. The service academies recruit at Boy's State events. You should definitely consider taking the Sat that is offered on January 28. The results will be available in time for Usafa Summer Seminar. If you do score well, then it will definitely help. If you don't, it is not going to hurt you at all, since you will take it at a later date. There are four weeks and four days to go through an Sat Prep Book, a little each day, including what is left of winter break. If you are not selected for Usafa Summer Seminar or SLS, the Psat/Sat scores are going to be a primary factor. Good Luck!
