Democrats Hypothetically If The Birther

Hypothetically, how would history have played out if Al Gore would have become president?

9/11 would still have taken place.Afghanistan … would have been different, bombings yes, invasion not likelyIraq - would have never happened. The Bush Tax cuts and the resultant explosive deficits would never have happened. The run up to the financial collapse of 2008 would have been controlled and managed by banking regulations. There were loads of warnings about the over heating of the housing and mortgage market - Warren Buffet warned us of this, so did the Federal Reserve… Gore would have acted on it.Hurricane Katrina would have been properly managedOk now HERE is where it gets problematic because Presidents get elected for reasons - often not to repeat the mistakes and failings of the previous president far FAR more than the perceived positive elements of the next President - people vote against things far more than they vote for them…. now … If Gore had been Elected… I am far from certain that Obama would have been…McCain might have had his shot at the Presidency… It might have been McCain, it might have been Mrs. Clinton… I am very unsure with no Bush and his screw ups that Obama would not have had the basis to be a candidate. With no Obama there would NEVER have been a birther movement and Trump would NOT have been given any base to run for the Presidency… Trump used his RACIST hatred of Obama as the basis to form his candidacy…. He added Racist hatred of immigration from Mexico… and his stupid wall….

Hypothetically, if Barack Obama comes out to have really been born in Kenya and not in the US, what consequences will he have to face?

Nobody cares any more.If someone sane wanted to make the argument about Obama’s citizenship, they’d point out the residency requirements for his mother prior to his birth, and that he was born 4 August 1961; they they would point out that Hawaii didn’t actually achieve statehood until 21 August 1959, and the residency requirements were not fulfilled.Since no one has ever tried to argue on the basis of this legal theory — which hangs by a thread, and it’s the same thread Ted Cruz’s citizenship hangs from — I have to conclude that the people making the argument are not sane.Which we could likely gather from the fact that the outcome will not “undo” the past fact of his presidency.Personally, I think we would likely be best served if we get rid of the citizenship requirement, and replace it with a legal residency require in the years leading up to the election. Not only would this mean Obama was fine — due to an amnesty, if nothing else — and that Cruz is fine — for the same reasons — it would mean the Terminator could run for president.

If birthers are ok with a guy born to an American mother and immigrant father, born outside the U.S., then why were they asking for proof from a guy definitely born to an American mother and immigrant father in America? Why was being born in America so important to them?

I cannot answer for why Birthers do anything (who can?); but I can answer from a legal perspective, that, assuming Obama was born in wedlock, it is necessary that Obama was born in the U.S. in his particular case, in order for him to have been born a U.S. citizen at all.U.S. citizen parents transmit U.S. citizenship to a child born abroad at birth only under certain conditions. For children born abroad to one U.S. citizen parent and one non-U.S. national parent, in wedlock, between 1952 and 1986 (which covers both Obama and Cruz), the condition is that the U.S. citizen parent had to have been physically present in the U.S. for 10 years prior to the child's birth, including 5 years after turning 14.There is no doubt that Cruz's mother met the physical presence requirement prior to Cruz's birth. However, Obama's mother does not meet that requirement at the time of Obama's birth -- she gave birth to him at 18, and thus could not have been present anywhere for 5 years after turning 14. So, if hypothetically Obama was born outside the U.S., and he was born in wedlock, all else being equal, then he would not be a U.S. citizen at birth. On the other hand, if Obama was hypothetically born outside the U.S. and he was born out of wedlock, all else being equal, he would be a U.S. citizen at birth, because the requirement for children born abroad to a U.S. citizen mother and a non-U.S. national father, out of wedlock, is that the U.S. citizen mother had to have been physically present in the U.S. for one continuous year, any time in her life before the child's birth (including in her childhood). Obama's mother would meet this. Obama's parents were married before his birth, but some people question the validity of this marriage, as Obama's father's first wife claimed that they were never divorced. If he were indeed born out of wedlock, then where he was born would not be relevant, but it's unlikely anyone can prove this, especially since a Kenyan court has ruled that Obama's father and his first wife did divorce.

Hypothetical Scenarios: If Jesus Christ ran for president as an independent, would he win?

No way. This is what the people that was closest to Jesus had to say about one of his speeches:"Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard this, said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it?"John 6:60 ASVJohn 6:60, American Standard Version (ASV)So what is the reaction from Jesus?"But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said unto them, Doth this cause you to stumble? What then if ye should behold the Son of man ascending where he was before? It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken unto you are spirit, and are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who it was that should betray him. And he said, For this cause have I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of the Father. Upon this many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him."John 6:61‭-‬66 ASVJohn 6:61-66, American Standard Version (ASV)So Jesus stands by his convictions even at the cost of his popularity. He does not stand a chance against the ClinTrumps of this world. At some point there was a sort of popularity contest between Jesus and a convicted murderer. The murderer won by public acclamation. Do you know any political party who would pick Jesus as a candidate for president? Good luck with that.

What do "birthers" think of Ted Cruz's eligibility to be President?

I am not a birther. But your statement that "meaning that Obama minimally has the same eligibility as Ted Cruz" is not correct if you are talking about the hypothetical situation the birthers claim where he was born outside the U.S.Having your mother be a U.S. citizen is not enough for you to be a U.S. citizen at birth. Children born to U.S. citizens abroad are U.S. citizens under only some circumstances. Ted Cruz's mother amply meets those conditions at the time of Cruz's birth. If hypothetically Obama had been born outside the U.S., Obama's mother would definitely not meet those conditions at the time of Obama's birth, assuming Obama was born in wedlock.
