How do you separate diesel from engine oil?

Can you separate beer from wine? It’s probably easier than trying to separate engine oil from diesel fuel or petrol. A small amount of the content of diesel fuel will be chemically identical to a similar small amount of the lube oil. This is because both products may contain distillates from the same batch of crude oil. The distillation process is not like throwing a switch, it is a gradual process that is never totally complete. It is possible to strip the additives out and then re distil the mixture, in fact some companies do this commercially, but it is a difficult and expensive process.

What is an engine?

Well my friend,in really simple words, “The ENGINE is a machine with moving parts which converts power to motion.”There are mainly two divisions on which engines are classified.“Internal Combustion” engines - Those engines in which combustion of fuel take place inside the engine. When the fuel burns inside the engine cylinder, it generates a high temperature and pressure, which generated the desired power. These are used in automobiles, locomotives, etc.“External Combustion” engines - In these engines, the combustion of fuel take place outside of the engine. In this type of engine, heat, which is generated by burning of fuel, is use to convert the water or other low boiling temperature fluid into steam, which generates the driving power. These are used in ships, generation of electric power, etc. The “Internal Combustion”(IC) engines are the most widely used in automobile industries and are widely referred to as automobile engines. Thanks for the A2A.

How can you describe the function of an electric motor?

An electric motor takes electrical energy and converts it to mechanical work.In general, this is done by utilizing the force on a conductor carrying an electric current when it is in a magnetic field. There’s myriad kinds of motors, differing mostly in how they create that magnetic field and how they route the current.

Why is valve tappet clearance in an overhead engine necessary to maintain properly?

Tappet clearance are necessary to allow for thermal expansion of valve spindle length at working temperature. It also ensures the positive closing of the valve as it wears down.Clearance should be set when the engine is cold and the cam follower is off the cam peak.Amount of clearance should be monitored as excessive and minimal clearance both have adverse effect on normal functioning of engine.Excessive clearance leafs to1.valve opens late2.closes early leading to decrement in scavenge efficiency.3.mechanical constraints lyk damage, noise and impact on working surface.Minimal clearance will leads to1.open early and closes late2.leaking of valve leading to burning of valve seat and other constraints.3.comoression pressure will also decrease due to keakageClearance should be monitored regularly using feller gauge for excessive or insufficient clearance

What is piston clearance? And why it is necessary?

Piston clearance is the clearance or gap between piston and metal cylinder, to avoid damage due to excessive expansion of piston on getting heated during combustion. It is also known as piston to bore clearance.Generally, piston is made up of cast aluminium alloy for good thermal conductivity. On heating, aluminium expands more than the metal cylinder. So proper piston clearance is necessary to maintain free piston movement in the cylinder. If the piston clearance is too small, then on getting heatedpiston will seize inside the cylinder on more expansionpiston will get too tight in the cylinder, resulting in excessive friction losspiston can damage the cylinder wallIf the piston clearance is too large, thenpiston will move back and forth very freely, resulting in engine knock and may even damage the piston skirtlarge clearance may also reduce the sealing property of compression rings to seal the compression chamberThanks for A2A.

How many ATP are produced by 1 glucose in aerobic Respiration?

2ATP and 2NADP is net gain of glycolysis,, then 2 NADP are produced as a result of conversion of 2 molecules of pyruvate into acetyl coenzyme A. In TCA cycle one molecule of pyruvate produces 3 NADP ,, 1 FADH2 and 1 GTP,, so for two molecules of pyruvate net gain from kreb cycle is 6NADP,, 2FADH2 ,, 2 GTP.So net gain till now is 10NADP,, 2ATP,, 2FADH2,, 2GTP which is equivalent to 36 ATPs.
