Dual monitors won't extend desktop..?

your best choice is to upgrade your video card to one with 2 ports. if one is a dvi port not a problem you'll just a dvi-vga adapter.

Why does my Acer S231HL monitor display anything?

I had the same problem with my computer monitor. My family just thought it was old, but then I'm pretty sure I figured out the problem. Try turning the computer on, then right after that turn on the monitor so they are in sync. If you don't do it right away, it's forcing the computer to load quickly, which it just can't do. If you quickly turn on the monitor, it will say "NO SIGNAL" then flash, then the computer will be normal again. If this doesn't work check out all the cords and plugs, and also consider a new monitor.

Tv monitor wont display when connected to computer?

My "Magnavox 17MD255V/17" tv will not display when put in computer mode. I'm running Windows 7 x64 with a GeForce 9500 GT video card and DVI to VGA adapters on dual monitors(the Maganavox and a HannsG HZ194). The Magnavox will display the BIOS screen, and Motherboard information. But when when Windows starts up it goes blank. My HannsG will work and if I switch the VGA cord with my computer on, it will allow the Magnavox to display with the HannsG driver, and the HannsG will have the Generic PNP driver that was installed for the Magnazox. How could I possibly change the driver that the Magnavox uses? Or any other way to make both displays work would be fine.

Computer turns on, but no display on monitor?

I have a desktop PC that's a little older; it's an HP Pavillion, with Windows XP installed. I used the monitor on another computer, and when I went to hook the monitor back to the HP desktop, I found that while it sounded like it had turned on and was functioning properly, the monitor displayed 'No Signal.'

I've already tried some other "fixes" over the internet: I've tried completely unplugging everything, including monitor, mouse, and keyboard, and allowing the computer to sit for a few hours before turning it back on; I tried "reseating" the two RAM pieces; I even tried "reseating" what appeared to be a small circular battery somewhere inside the computer. On top of all this failing, the computer's tower is now beeping at me (it wasn't beeping before). This has happened once in the past, though I was able to fix it by unplugging everything and allowing it to sit for a time.

Are there any solutions/suggestions of how I can fix this problem? (P.S. While I know my way around computer software, I am completely lost when it comes to the computer itself - please give your answers in 'noob' terms :P )

Thank you for your consideration.

My DELL desktop does not display anything though the power is on? What should I do?

Quite a few things could be faulty. One or a combination of the points mentioned below could be the causing the issue.Check if monitor is on. If you have another PC or Laptop, connect it to that and check if it works. If it doesn’t then the monitor or it’s power cable or the video cable is faulty. Try with a different power cable and video cable (VGA/HDMI).What is the power button color when PC is on? If you have another monitor then, try it.Dell PCs have some kind of diagnostic LEDs. Check the manual for instruction. It will point to the faulty component.Lastly, when was the last time it was working fine and was there any changes (hardware or software) that may have started the problem.

Monitor hdmi wont show screen?

Hello, Most computers can connect to an external display for mirrored and extended desktops. While high-definition television sets cannot match the resolution that many dedicated computer monitors are capable of, an HDTV can be a convenient way to view movies and websites on a larger screen. HDTVs typically accept a variety of inputs, and once you've found the correct input to match your output capabilities, connecting the two is as easy as plugging the correct cable in.

Determine which video standard to use. VGA and HDMI are the two most common standards used to connect a computer and an HDTV, but not all computers support HDMI output, and some televisions will not accept VGA input at 1080p resolution. Check the technical specifications of your devices to make sure you're using the right cable.

Connect your video cable to the appropriate ports on your computer and HDTV.

Tune your HDTV to display either the VGA or HDMI input, depending on which standard you are using.

Change your display settings to match your desired setup. On a PC, you can accomplish this by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting "Properties." The right-most tab, "Settings," contains options for switching between the computer displays and, if your laptop's video card supports them, extended and mirrored desktop options...Hey, I enjoyed your question, I am a retired computer technician. I hope I have helped you...
