Did I Get My Moms Genes From Marjuana

In an Anemia blood test, does Marijuana show up?

I smoked some pot yesterday just to try it, but I just found out my mom is taking me next week to the doctor for an Anemia blood test.

I was wondering if the THC will show up during the test.

Please answer,

Thanks in advance!

If I get STD tested will marijuana show up ?

Whether sexually active or not as a kid, its a matter of ethical debate. it is a fact however, that if you are sexually active, it is the responsible thing to do to get STD testing before and after each partner, at least assuming you don't go through random people at will.

For the record, urine tests are more accurate at telling longer use of marijuana than blood tests. THC is very fat loving and doesn't prefer blood. Numerous enzymatic reactions slowly make THC more water loving, and these metabolites quickly transfer to the urine upon formation.

Depending on what state you are in, you may have the right, even as a minor, to request portions of your medical record not be allowed viewing by your parents.

All that being said, let me say I wish I could have enjoyed childhood longer. Selling drugs by the age of 8 (my brothers were having me ride my bike to friends), I was given the option to choose to do them at a young age. A crackhead by 8th grade.

Now I'm a successful molecular biologist, and yes, I do smoke medical marijuana. I've seen drugs from every aspect: molecular, pharmacological, addictive, and personal. While marijuana may not be as harmful as the government claims it to be, any drug can be bad for a developing body. During pubery, many new hormones are introduced to the body, receptors are increased, genetic regulation switches dramatically, etc. Chronic administration of any outside drug, when not needed medically, can have huge effects, long term effects, on the outcome of puberty and your development.

I'm certainly not against marijuana, but I do think you should develop yourself as a person while your parents still support you. Pursue your dreams. Adult life is stressful enough. You can make the decision to do or not do drugs as an adult, but make an informed decision.

Should i convince my mom to give my grandpa marijuana edibles?

i live in CA where medical marijuana is legal. my grandpa has a rare genetic disease which causes his muscles to degenerate, and so he cant walk now and his arms are getting stiffer as well. he also loses bowel control and when he talks its very hard to understand him because his disease makes him mumble. so he has to use alot of energy to say something clearly. he's in a nursing home now, but i think hes depressed, which is only natural. my mom told me that they asked his doctor if he could write him a recommendation for marijuana and he said no (that asshole). so i told my mom that she has to take him to another doctor, one who specifically gives out marijuana reccomendations. shes afraid of the idea because she thinks something will go wrong and she'll go to jail. i assured her she wouldnt get in trouble and that as soon as the proper doctor takes a look at him, he'll give him the recommendation. i want to give my grandfather marijuana brownies or cookies, so that he can enjoy the remaining years of his life. i dont want him stoned all the time (as that could worsen his depression) but i dont see anything wrong with once in a while. what do you guys think?

I'm a minor (17). If I tell my doctor I smoke marijuana could it get my parents in trouble?

I don’t recommend telling your doctor you do drugs unless it’s relevant. For example, I have a friend who, aged under 30, had a serious genetic heart condition she only found out about last year after nearly dying. She smokes weed for pain but weed is neither legal nor accessible for medical purposes in Estonia. When she asked her doctor, he simply didn’t know what to say. So she left none the wiser. Of course, as she is under 30, nobody cares. Laissez faire. If there is nothing wrong with you, there is no reason to talk about it to your doctor out of the blue. We as a society have a hard time accepting that drugs have been a normal part of life for as long as humanity has existed, and it’s only thanks to the practitioners of one or two specific faiths that has seen the use of psychoactive plants and compounds looked down upon. Honestly, it’s the 21’st century, we should get over it.If you really need to tell them, for whatever reason, make sure you’ve got doctor-patient confidentiality and they’re not at liberty to share the information without your consent. There’s no point in suffering for a principle and having nothing change for the better as a result.Unless your parents know and help you obtain said marijuana, they can’t get in trouble unless you get arrested for possession* or something else illegal and they have to pay your fines for you.*Check what the decriminalized amount in your area is, because it may mean the difference between simply getting a “ticket” or a fine from the officer, like you get for being intoxicated from alcohol as a minor, or actually getting arrested.

How Dangerous is Smoking Marijuana with Schizophrenia in a Relative?

You cannot become schizophrenic from smoking weed. If you are going to be schizophrenic however, then (it's like a bad dormant seed, in my opinion) smoking can trigger it. So it can be bad for someone who does or will have it, but not for someone who does not have it in their brain at all.

However, if you smoke too much or do too much lsd, you can develop lasting (and sometimes permanent) symptoms that are similar to schizophrenia.

And, (since you can't know whether or not you will develop schizophrenia), it could be more "dangerous" for you to smoke weed if you have a close relative with it. (Of course in the long run, it wouldn't really make a difference) Sorry to ramble.

Can marijuana cause Down's Syndrome?

First off I DO NOT smoke weed, this just came up in a conversation. My step mom is a registered nurse and we were talking about mental disabilities. After a while she says that drugs like weed can cause mental defects and "cause things like Down's Syndrome." Unless I'm wrong, Down's Syndrome is an extra 21st chromosome. It's something that a person is BORN with correct? She insists that smoking marijuana can cause an extra chromosome and Down's Syndrome-like qualities. Can marijuana do that? I'm not defending the use of weed, but I'm highly skeptical that it can cause DS. Is there anyone out there who knows for sure? I would like some proof, references and whatnot, not just "YEAH lolz i ben smokin pot for years now and no probs yet brah!"

Just to re-cap: Can excessive smoking of marijuana cause Down's Syndrome in people who were NOT born with it? Can it magically create a third 21st chromosome for you?

Will smoking marijuana once every 3 or 4 weeks affect puberty?

im 14 and im just starting out puberty. i have a little bit of pubes, voice hasnt changed yet, small penis etc. i am 5'0 and my mom is 5'2 and dad is 5'6. short family. i have smoked marijuana 3 times. the second time i did it was 2 weeks after first time and 3rd time was a couple days ago which was also one week after my 2nd time. i am going to start doing it less. if i did it once every 3-4 weeks would it affect my puberty or stunt my growth? i have heard people say smoking weed will stunt growth and affect puberty and i have heard otherwise that it wouldnt also. i want to grow up normally and also continue to smoke pot every 3-4 weeks, but i wanna know if smoking that often would affect me at all, and if smoking even affects puberty and stunts growth at all?

Is it dangerous to smoke weed if someone in your family has schizophrenia?

A2A. You can smoke, but I wouldn't advise it. Nor would mental health. Woohoo! We agree for once. Why? Schizophrenia triggers later in life typically. If a sibling has it, the stats are around 8x more likely you'll get it, without cannabis triggering it. You are under higher risk. However that's around 8x as much versus a typical person. At around 10%, that's a significant risk, if the figures are accurate.I don't really see cannabis causing it. It most likely just brings it out of you, triggering the condition. However, the cannabis still triggers it. We have too mamy cases to reject the risks. Who the family is matters.Just to see typical stats of how schizophrenia is related, take a look at Schizophrenia Genetics and HeredityIf we are talking an aunt, your probably fine. A brother more risky. A parent, even more risky.I would avoid it until we learn more of Schizophrenia and how to use the condition to our benefit. Primarily obtaining positive voices and visions.Mental health is more valuable than getting high. We generally smoke to feel better don't we?You got a choice to make. Don't make it on my post alone. Do some real research. Put the time in. Look at lots of sources. It could end up being an important decision.Hope that helps you get evaluating.
