Did I Win I Pad Or Any Thing Else At All

Why did Apple win with the iPad?

To understand how iPad won despite Microsoft's ten year head start on tablet design, you need only to look at early Microsoft tablets. What a totally awful experience.Windows tablets used the familiar Windows desktop OS and UI , with a stylus in place of the mouse and adding either an on-screen keyboard or handwriting recognition.  Stuff was hard to read, targets were painfully hard to hit, and the experience was nothing short of abysmal.  Touch optimized apps were few and far between, and poorly maintained.By contrast, the interface to iOS was built from the ground up as a touchscreen user experience.  No legacy apps, and a tight gatekeeper of user experience called the App Store. The UI was optimized for use with fingers (no stylus!) on a capacitive MULTI-touch touchscreen, and the Springboard UI serially launched apps.iOS managed the tight screen space with a collection of gestures (pinch zoom, swipe) and typing aids like autocorrect to fix the imprecision of a finger-driven UI.  They added under-finger clues on the keyboard and the finger-driven screen magnifier.Rather than trying to force touch into a desktop metaphor, they made a touch centric experience, filled with delightful UI clues and flourishes like inertia and bounce. The iPad was the first USABLE tablet computer. In the post-iOS era, Windows 8 was the first attempt to remedy Microsoft's poor touch system design, but they still did a terribly clumsy job since they used a mix of Metro and Classic applications under the Windows 8 umbrella.  The dedication to backwards compatibility thwarted any true innovation.

My dog is pee pad train and she starting to pee in the carpets and in the bedroom, what should I do?

She may have a urinary track infection. I would take her to the vet to make sure.

Once dogs go on the carpet the scent is there, and they think that is the place to go. I have a 9 yr old Maltese, and a 8 year old Pappillion. They started going on the carpet too when we first got them. The only way we could solve the problem was to get rid of all the carpet in the house. We now have tile, and in master bedroom we have painted concrete. We cannot even use throw rugs in the house, and we have to keep the bathroom doors shut, as they will go pee on the rugs.

We started off using the pee pee pads too, and that might not be the best way to train them, as it didn't work for us! When we take them to someones house with carpet, we have to hold them, or they will go on the carpet. They do not like to go out in bad weather and walk on wet grass, nor do they like to go on long grass, so we have to keep it mowed short.

I know this isn't giving you much hope, but dogs are like kids, when you have them they are your responsibility to care for them, you can't give your kid away if it misbehaves or annoys you. Your dog is still young so maybe you can figure something out. Maybe ask a dog trainer or something like that for help in potty training. I could never give my dogs away no matter what they did. They are part of our family!

At Bed Bath and Beyone they have that fake grass dog potty! Maybe that can help!

How can I stop gambling?

I've lost 7 grand all-time..
I've lost close to $400 in the past 2 weeks..

This is all mostly on poker & sports gambling..

I keep going back and saying to myself:

"Oh I'm just making the wrong bets, on the wrong teams.."
"I need to feel good about my bet before i make it, that would guarantee a win.."
"I'm not going to chase a loss, ever.."

..but that's exactly what i do - i make a few good bets, then lose one and bet it all really rashly (go to the casino, play dumb hands on poker, bet half my bankroll on one game..), and I can't stop myself from doing it. I get really depressed from a loss and have to get my money back.

How can I prevent myself from gambling?

My main motivation is to prove to myself that I can do it and earn money gambling on sports, but I'm finally realizing that maybe I don't have the skills nor the sufficient information to do it and that the odds which I'm betting on themselves are computer generated algorithms that run millions of scenarios to create the perfect lines which I could never ever process in my head..

I'm out-matched, undisciplined and extremely naive..

But I feel like crap for losing so much money so I crave to prove to myself and others that I can do it, so I can say that I didn't make a wrong decision by starting to gamble 5 years ago.. Mostly everything in my young life has failed (I'm 22).. I have a poor GPA in college, people think I'm dumb, not many friends, no girlfriend, got into drugs (now I'm sober).. I needed something to make me feel smart and worthwhile, gambling did that for me when I was winning. Now all it does is make me depressed again because all I do is lose..

I think I need to swallow my pride and stop, but man.. it's hard - especially when your motivation is to soothe your bruised ego. That's never going to work out well.. especially in gambling. Talk about a recipe for disaster..

I don't think I gamble because I want to gamble. I gamble because I have no other avenue of self-confidence, happiness or recognition for my intelligence. I know the risks are far too high, I should rather learn more about the stock market.. or save my money and invest in t-bills.. cds.. whatever the case may be - something less risky where I won't lose all my money in one fell swoop.

Funny how the deepest addictions have nothing to do with what you're addicted to.
